Ancelotti hints at PSG move for 'fantastic' £22m Liverpool star. LFC beware?

Speculation over the future of controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez continues to grow, with the most persistent rumour being that Paris St. Germain are planning a summer move for the Uruguayan. Until now, there's been no official confirmation of PSG's interest but this week, manager Carlo Ancelotti has dropped the biggest hint yet that the Ligue 1 club will pursue Suarez in the summer.

In an interview with RCM Radio, Ancelotti was asked about the rumours linking PSG with a move for Suarez, and The former Chelsea and AC Milan manager seemed to suggest - within the boundaries of mutual club respect - that PSG are interested in signing Suarez:

"Suarez is a fantastic striker. There will be many opportunities in the summer transfer window because many players will be interested in coming to PSG."

If Liverpool do not finish in the top four, will Suarez be able to resist the lure of Paris, and Champions League football? I sincerely doubt the Carling Cup - which has absolutely no prestige outside of England - will be enough to keep him at Liverpool.

Ancelotti is not the only person to publicly express interest in Suarez; Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini recently made it clear that the Serie A outfit would definitely be interested in signing Suarez. He told The Daily Mail:

"Would I take him? [Suarez] I would sign him tomorrow morning. He’s a fantastic striker. I would certainly try to educate him, but I don’t think he behaved like this [Towards Patrice Evra because he is racist"

One thing is for sure: Suarez is not going to be short of suitors this summer, which doesn't bode well for Liverpool.

Depends on which angle you look at it. If he continues to be controversial with his irresponsible behavior, that fact is only going to be good for us.

  2. Yes, you're right about that.  I agree - it will probably be a good thing in the long-term if Suarez moves on.

  3. No not in the long term because we will become even worse and not win a title for another 100 years. Gerrard's past it. Carroll's shit. Henderson's shit. Adam's not good enough for Liverpool. Downing another player we overpaid for. Enrique gone poor after a bright start.

Sack Dalglish, hasnt got a clue in the transfer market anymore. Times have changed.

  4. Considering they tried for Pato and/or Tevez in January, it seems PSG are certainly looking at bringing in at least one big name striker, particularly of the small technically gifted kind (Tevez, Pato and Suarez share some common traits). So wouldn't surprise me if they went for Suarez. How would I feel about that? Well, not a big fan of his any more after what has gone and his antics, so I wouldn't be shedding any tears if he left that is for sure.

  5. I hope he don't go but would I blame him if he did. Never. IfKK bought world class foreign players instead of the average British ones than I very much doubt it that he would even consider of leaving LFC so soon. So if he goes I would never blame him for doing that. YNWA.

  6. A couple of years ago I would comment on articles like this with "I do not know what we will do without Suarez" and "the club have got to pull out all of the stops to keep the lad". But not anymore!

Since the King has come back, he has continually emphasised that the club is bigger than any one player. Imagine if we had have sold Torres to Chelsea when Hodgson was in charge! Or even when Rafa was there.

The thing is, Luis is a great player and I would hope that he values the 4 and a half years he has left on his contract, but if he doesn't then that is fine. If the lad really wants to go at the end of the season, then let him. Everyone knows that if the kid wants to go then we will get top dollar for him. We have a manager in place (as well as the owners and Comolli) that will get a replacement(s) if he goes. Think about when Torres left - how did we feel as fans? Did we think that Suarez would really be able to replace Torres?

The structure is there now so that we can invest in players in each transfer window. Us as LFC fans need to realise this and also understand that if any player really wants to leave us at this moment in time, then it will be their loss. I actually think that Luis will stay but if he doesn't then, as I've said, it will be his loss. Just ask El Nino!

  7. its all wishful thinking, suarez is going nowhere for at least 3 years and then it will take 80 million to get him.

  9. Oh I forgot to mention thatCC has no meaning nowhere not even in England and is just shite. If we don't get the 4th place and get in the CHL than 2012 has to b seen as a failure. YNWA

  10. non story here he wont go anywhere.

  11. wo wo wo.  If u get 35 million from suarez u end up getting benzema or higuain who are far better than suarez, i wish a swap takes place between liverpool and madrid, it will be in best interest of liverpool. Coz suarez aint world class finisher although he is world class player but finishing aint at par with benz or higuain. I wish kaka could finish his career as a Red

  12. wat a load of bull. psg along with others, and dont count out chavski.
evra has pretty much ruined his career over here.
but he wont be going anywhere

  13. I would be more worried if we had players nobody wanted, if you have great players what do you expect....

  14. I take it you are from Uruguay and 'bent' means something wonderful in your country?

  15. Djimi Traore was wanted...yay(!)

  16. £22 million, wise up, he's worth more than Torres when he was sold

  17. Suarez's goal record hardly betters anything that Torres mustered up in his last season at the club.

  18. Suarez is too good for LFC,Dalglish spent all the cash on supposed English talent,Wiltshire Oxi-Chamberlain Smalling Jones are english talent with potential to be world class,KK in his wisdom broke the bank on Carroll and Henderson who may just be ordinary players for the rest of their careers, Smalling Jones and Oxi-chamberlain combined cost less than Carroll,Suarez stays and will be part of a KK revolution who relies on Rafas players Reina agger Skertel Johnson Lucas Kuyt Maxi or leaves as he sees KKs buys as abysmal Henderson carroll Adam Downing i cant believe what KK has done just for selfish reasons to force success instead of thinking of the good of the club.

  19. Bring back Rafa!!!

  20. Ancelotti can have Suarez for 75 mil, pounds. Take it or leave it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. had we sold torres when "rafa was there", it would have commanded atleast 80mill and no one had the foresight to see what a peanut he would turn out to be

    ReplyDelete
  22. ... more like 40

    ReplyDelete
  23. do not mention gods name in vein

    ReplyDelete
  24. The problem is that if we get 35m for Suarez Dalglish will turn around and buy more Brit crap... probably offer 50m for Bent! LOL... agree with Ro.. Dalglish is clueless in the transfer market and his team selection is pure garbage forcing his Brit crap on the first team instead of picking players that deserve it...He is past it and needs to go!

  27. Stable of mules and donkeys8:13 am, March 02, 2012

    Yeah, you're right!

By the way, why sell Suarez to PSG for 22 million pounds to PSG?

Manchester City and Chelsea will snap Suarez up for 40 million pounds, easy.

Don't be surprised if Ferguson comes sniffing around too, and ships Evra off to PSG or the New York Cosmos on a free, after Evra's long and "emotional" season.

That's sufficient money to sign up Darren Bent for 35 million pounds.

What a great addition Bent will be to our stable of donkeys and mules like Henderson (20 million) , Downing (20 million) , Carroll (35 million), and Adam (10 million).

  28. I do despair when i read some comments on this site relating to Carroll and Henderson. Did you people slating them expect them to be amazing straight away? We were never buying the finished article with either player but looking to build for the future with a solid core of British players to start with and then look to add big names as of when we can. Carroll is improving game by game and he will start showing what he can do, he was never worth 35 million but thats irrelevant due to FFP rules etc . Henderson has shown signs of what he can do, once Lucas is back and Henderson plays in front of him in the middle his game will improve no end. We are not far away from being a very good team, we just need a few more creative players and a profilic scorer.

  29. Ever had your picture taken at the LFC museum with the Premier League trophy? No, I thought not, you clown!

    ReplyDelete
  30. SUarez will stay put,Hendersen will be loaned and Carroll given a trial till Jan 2013.
We wont sell any of our players to Ancellotti again fo him to mismanaged them.Look at what he did to Torres.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Look we bought them to get the fourth spot and never to build the future. Some of you guys say Rafa built Lucas and now he is excellent so likewise we should do with Hendersen.Yes Lucas was built with the detriment of reaching the fourth spot so should we keep on building players status and forgoing the fourth spot?
In May if we dont qualify for the CL spot then King Kenny and Hendersen will have to answer some questions

    ReplyDelete
  32. but remember we can still blame rafa regardless

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't think Henderson is that bad. Remember he is surrounded by the likes of Adam the jogger, Carroll the horse with no feet, and Downing the pussy cat. I'm not having a go at these players, I just want to sum it up really fast. lol. Also Lucas is out, so there are no legs in midfield to run things, cuz we all know Gerrard doesn't have the energy anymore, no disrespect.

    (and Hyypiä)

  35. I would sell Suarez for £35 to £40 Mill, buy a decent play maker and a up and coming prolific striker, who will get min 20 prem goals a season then its happy days.

  36. Is this the thread for idiots or is it the holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show?
You lot know fuck all about football, you claim to be Liverpool fans and write this shit about the players and manager?
Who the fuck do you lot think you are? Bunch of Cunts.

Jaimie, do you really support Liverpool or are you running some sort of social experiment on the idiocy of today's youth?

You cunts make me fucking sick, how dare you call yourselves reds?

  37. Let the Suarez auction begin! We can even throw in a spanish/english/french/italian/german dictionary as well, can't say fairer than that!

Would love to see the guy come down to my local and start calling some of the people negrito and claiming cultural differences! Pretty much every culture in the pub would be agreed that he needed to be 'put straight'. Sell, sell, sell, he can take his average scoring record and bad attitude elsewhere.

  38. "Our" - this type of modern fairweather supporter makes me sick.

"If you can't support us when
    we lose or draw, don't
support us when we win." - Bill Shankly

    ReplyDelete
  39. No, you are wrong, it was Evra's wicked mother and father that ruined Suarez's career over here by having a little negrito baby that Suarez was unable to abuse.

Every latin American I have spoken to seems to suggest that Suarez is a lying so and so, but you handshake analysts and dialect experts clearly know better.

    ReplyDelete
  40. You are right...Liverpool needs a big change in squad,we must get rid of them if we are serious to challenge for trophies. They are not Liverpool fc style.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Totally unrealstic transfer speculation. I reckon Suarez will only leave for bigger clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona. Especially the latter one as his wife's family lives there.

    ReplyDelete
  42. He made the people happy.5:28 pm, March 02, 2012

    Yeah, indeed. Maybe you're right!

Who am I to use the word "our" in the end?

Why call me a "supporter" after all?

I'm just a f*****g wallet with a credit card inside, walking on two legs.

    That's all I am.
