Benjamin Corgnet confirms: "English clubs are interested in me..."

Alleged Liverpool target Benjamin Corgnet has dismissed speculation surrounding his immediate future, and he's confirmed that he will not be leaving France for the Premier League in January.

Last week, Dijon coach Patrice Carteron told RMC that Corgnet was going nowhere:

"He stays. We had a direct approach from Newcastle but Benjamin is of the same approach as us, and wants to continue to progress by completing a full season in Ligue 1.

"At the end of the season, of course, he will be allowed to leave. It is a good thing for him to be able to stabilise at the highest level. Newcastle's offer was very high."

Now, Corgnet himself has confirmed that he wants to stay in France until the end of the season. He told L'Equipe:

"To stay with Dijon, that's what I want, and that's what the coach wants.

"After, you never know what can happen, but I think it would be the best for me to end the season with Dijon.

“I have read and heard that several English clubs, including Newcastle, are interested on me, but all these rumours do not really disturb me."
