Craig Bellamy blasts: "He behaved like an idiot..."

After Liverpool's recent 3-1 defeat to Bolton, Nigel Reo-Coker laid into Craig Bellamy during his post match interview, and the Welshman has stayed silent on the issue. Until now...

Reo Coker and Bellamy were involved in an onfield spat during the game, and afterwards, the Bolton captain scathed:

"Craig Bellamy is going to be Craig Bellamy and I've got no respect for him.

"I'm from the old school; I'm not a bully or someone who runs my mouth so to speak.

"I get on with football but if someone brings it to me I'll handle it.

"He can do whatever he wants to do but I don't give a damn about him".

The nature of what actually happened is unclear, but in an interview with The Mirror, Bellamy blasted Re-Coker's 'comical' behaviour:

"Reo-Coker behaved like an idiot. I was only messing about. It was just comical. I was actually laughing about it with Zat Knight because Reo-Coker had gone.

"He was saying, 'see you down the tunnel' and I was laughing because we go down separate tunnels there anyway. If you watch, I wasn't the aggressor.

"I was having fun. I wasn't letting it get to me"

Bellamy may be right about Reo-Coker, but is publicly responding to him with personal insults the right way to address the situation?

  5. Just goes to prove that the English press have it in for Liverpool. I'm surprised they didn't turn it into a race row.

  9. You might be surprised, but Craig Bellamy's record in this respect is better than the player you are referring to, so stop being so paranoid.

  13. Bellamy is one of the most passionate and proud footballers on the planet, I for one wouldn't change 1 iota of his game, he is instrumental to LFC and has been what we missed for a long time, why did we sold him in the first place is beyond me, but he is back and appears at his best too. He gives his everything for this great club, lets not worry about what  Reo Coker has to say.

  17. Jamie I set you a challenge. Try to go for the rest of the year without using the adjectives "blast" or "slam".

    Bless ya.

  18. Nigel who?  Trying to make his name off the back of a proper player.
I think NRC was once expected to fulfill his potential, but seems he needs to use his mouth these days to make a name for himself as his football is very average.

  19. Strange that he seems to be captain wherever he plays, though, so he must be doing something right.

He's not a patch on Bellamy, though, who i think is a proper player and a decent bloke. And i respect his rebellious nature because he has shown, time and again, that his heart is in the right place. We all make mistakes but he is not a nasty piece of work like many other players who have been in the news lately.
