BREAKING NEWS: Adeyemi in tears after alleged racial abuse at Anfield *2nd UPDATE*

In a troubling incident near the end of Liverpool's FA Cup third round tie at Anfield, Oldham midfielder Tom Adeyemi had to be restrained by his own team-mates after reacting badly to apparent abuse from someone in the Kop.

A clearly distressed Adeyemi wiped tears from his eyes after reacting to some form of abuse from the crowd.

Several Oldham players had to physically restrain him from heading towards the Kop in anger, and Dirk Kuyt, Steven Gerrard and the referee had to step in to calm the player down.

A few minutes after the incident, a still-incensed Adeyemi was booked for a nasty foul on Jon Flanagan.

Adeyemi's strong reaction seems to suggest that something was said to him, but the question is, what?

The referee had a word with the player at the end of the game, and the Police were seen talking to the fourth official.

There's no point speculating about what happened; it might *not* be what everyone will automatically think, but if it is, Liverpool are going to be in serious trouble.

UPDATE: Fri @ 11.30pm

* Daily Mail reporting that a fan has apparently been arrested for alleged racial abuse.

* An official LFC statement contradicts the Mail:

''An incident occurred in the second half of the match which is now being investigated by both the club and the police,'' said a statement. ''We will continue to work with the police to establish the details of what actually happened and will make a further statement in due course.''

UPDATE: Sat @ 10:30am

* In an interview with BBC Manchester, Oldham captain Dean Furman made it (indirectly) clear that the nature of the abuse could only be one thing:

"He was abused and I'll leave it to Tom and the police to investigate that. What happened should not happen in the game. It has been highlighted over the last few months and it is an absolute disgrace.

"It is difficult for me to say anything. When one of your boys is down like that we all feel it. Tom, the authorities and police will sort out the situation.

"I hope the authorities take heavy action because it was a disgrace. A lot of credit goes to Tom for the way he handled the situation."

UPDATE: Sat @ 16:00

Shrewsbury defender Reuben Hazell on Twitter:

"After the game I went into the Oldham dressing room to catch up with my old mates and spoke to Tom Adeyemi directly about what the altercation with the fan was all about.

"He said he was racially abused by the fan. This is FACT. He also said that police want to speak to him and was asking 4 advise (sic) from his team-mates what to do.

"Every1 around him told him 2 go ahead and give his version of events to the police. It's time for this kind of behaviour to stop. This isnt acceptable in football or in society and its time 4 black players 2 show a stand like young Tom did.

"As a 20yr old I thought he managed the situation extremely well and it was sad that the incident reduce him 2 tears in what should of been the happiest day of his footballing career to date."

Norwich chief executive David McNally wrote on Twitter:

"LFC have assured us that the awful incident will be fully investigated."

  2. Racist abuse followed by chanting of Suarez's name. Stay classy, Liverpool.

  3. Why you stirring things up?
The Kop were only singing "I just can't get enough" and he didn't like it.
    So what??

  5. I really hope some bright spark sitting in the Kop end has not abused him racially as that is the last thing we need right now. Too soon to tell and hopefully it is nothing, but I recall Etoh reacting in a similar way to abuse from fans regarding racist remarks.

  6. Nice one Jamie, could of been nothing but you have to fuel the furnace!!!!! Your a half bit Journo not a Liverpool fan.

  9. It was a major incident in the game.  I haven't levelled any accusations, I've just reported what seemed to have happened.  You don't know what happened either.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Surely the ref would/should have informed the police straight away if it was anything racist?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oh shut up! You don't know what was said .. Ignorant fool!

    ReplyDelete
  12. just what we need. the idiot in question should be banned from anfield for life.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I've got a very bad feeling about this one ... highly likely some fans racially abused him ... club would have to take full responsibility in that case ... could well lead to Liverpool being excluded from the FA Cup ... that's what happens if your club and manager don't take rasism serious enough ...

    ReplyDelete
  14. The police were informed, and were seen speaking with the 4th official about the incident.

  15. To be honest, there is so much anger about how Suarez has been treated and by all these idiotic politically correct nobodies coming out and accusing Liverpool and Dalglish of this and that, I couldn't give a shit. I grew up on the banks of the Mersey, I'm a pure working class and I don't have time for all these liberal idiots. Its the FA's fault for lying. Have you been reading the Daily Mail all week?? Suarez is being hounded by them. I threatened them with the Press Complaints and one article disappeared from there website.
I'm not suggesting the Oldham lad deserved it but if he was racially abused then it goes to show you that it doesn't really exist anymore as he was shocked.
So all this rubbish about racism in football is just rubbish. Stoked up by idiots like Jason Roberts.
I live away from Liverpool now and constantly hear Scouse 'jokes'. Is that not a form of racism? Regionalism at least!!

  16. His reaction suggests that something really nasty was said. In the current climate it's a fair bet to say it was racial. And even if it wasn't the singing of Suarez's name straight afterwards says everything that needs to be said. The boy is just a kid. He's worked really hard in his first big match. For him to receive abuse that would upset him to that degree is disgraceful.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Im not saying it is right but racist comments are shouted from every crowd in every ground int he country and probably the world. it is human nature to be hostile to opposing players

    ReplyDelete
  18. If something was said, I hope the person or persons involved are identified, and prevented from ever stepping foot Anfield again. We cannot let these mindless idiots take our club's reputation further down these slippery slope. If you know what happened, please let the club know so that further steps can be taken.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I was watching the game on a stream. I interpreted it as him reacting to the chanting of Suarez's name, but I think an account by someone at the match would be better. Hopefully it's an isolated individual if there was any form of racism.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And why the fuck would Lfc be banned for what a fan does? Are u daft? Probobly the fan will be banned from Anfield which i think is right! Go and dream on u Manc Wank!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why bother to report it then ? Its the likes of idiots like you that cause trouble in the first place .

    ReplyDelete
  22. People - use your brains.  Every team has ignorant, stupid, and racist fans.  All clubs can do is ban them when they do these things.  Best to wait to see what happened.  But this is the can of worms the FA has opened up - now anyone can be charged or face character assassination just through allegation.  The FA could have diffused all this by treating the case fairly, the players equitably, and punishing equally.  Racism is a very complex issue - it's not black and white - other races are abused too, especially immigrants like Suarez.

    ReplyDelete
  23. To be fair, you have ever right to report it. It was an incident in the game that delayed play. I just hope there wasn't any racist provocation by a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  24. liverpool supporter thro and thro but there was some racist chants from the kop totaly out of order i hope lfc takes a strong and swift reaction to this

    ReplyDelete
  25. You claim it was a comment from the KOP, I know no more than you but if any comment was made it would be an individual on the KOP, should Liverpool players walk of the pitch when Scousers are being labled thieves and dole scroungers by opposing fans? how far will this silly FA thing go?

    ReplyDelete
  26. he wasnt crying he kept wiping his nose but you ve made more out of it than wot it is ...i knew this wor gonna happen but not from you

    ReplyDelete
  27. why is there no mention he is a norwich midfielder on-loan at oldham.
it doesn't really matter i know, but still.

    ReplyDelete
  28. hostile, but why racist.
I just think he didn't like it that the Kop were supporting Luis Suarez.

    ReplyDelete
  29. A reaction like that demands something special.

A simple "You're s**t" won't get a(normal) footballer losing the plot like Adeyemi did.

I'm worried sick that some of the fans have chanted something racial.  If they did, Liverpool will have to take another huge blow from FA.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Please stop the moral posturing.  Man Utd fans sing racist chants aimed at Suarez for large portions of the game.  Almost all opposing fans have sung something unsavoury at Liverpool games.  Stop with the one-way reporting - it is discriminating and reductive!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Did The Poor Lad Red-Carded On Johno's Challange, I Tho It Was Yellow.. Lfc Website Says Otherwise.. Talkin About LFC Been Kickin Out Of FA Cup.. Not Gonna Happen!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Every time the Liverpool fans chant Suarez's name, they are supporting the use of racist language in the English game. Shame on you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. All Lfc fans need to keep their cool and maintain their dignity. Suarez & Dalglish are under the cosh because of retards and those with bigger agendas but LFC is built on their integrity.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Liverpool fans should really stop singing Luis Suarez's name so much, after a week of defending the club in work all week (i've relocated to Leeds) I don't think I can do it much more.

Suarez may or may not be racist, but he used racial terms and therefore deserves a ban. Keep quiet, let it pass, sing his name when he's in the team, not now, it's too soon.
Any racist abuse from Liverpool fans, you know what, i hope they do kick us out of the cup, because the comments i've seen regarding the suarez incident have disgusted me. It's not Liverpool v Man Utd, or Liverpool v the FA, it's right V wrong and he was in the wrong, only a moron will disagree with that.

Nice win tonight, but fairly disgusted by the morons on the Kop.

  37. Hope nothing has happened but if it has then action needs to be taken the FA and the club. Kenny & the players wearing that t shirt has not helped the clubs image at all and it seems it has stoked up some extreme views from some (minority) at Liverpool.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shame on Liverpool. Tom is just a lad. Regardless what was said, is there any place for that in modern football? Embarassing.

    ReplyDelete
  39. the FA take racism serious do they???  gee i wonder what happened to one of their employees or directors that sent that racist email last year... last i heard he is still working there...

but agree IF it is racial abuse, the club will need to take responsibility for that...

"if it is, Liverpool FC, not the city, are in serious trouble. If it isn't, they're in serious trouble already."

    ReplyDelete
  41. Just because other fans do it doesn't make it okay. We shouldn't defend ourselves with 'we're only as bad as everyone else!'.

What do you want from the reports 'Something racist said by Liverpool fan. Of course at this point we shoudl point out all clubs have racist fans'.

If someone is found to have said something, which can be proven BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT (the only fair standard), then a life time ban.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Can you spell? Are you actually a liverpool fan Mark?

    ReplyDelete
  43. That is really irresponsible and discriminatory in its own right.  The FA is not a court of law - the case was not treated in a way that would be acceptable to any court of law.  Evra and the FA have stated that Suarez isn't racist.  Assassinating his character based upon a probability case in a kangeroo court is not a moral position to take.

  45. Shame on you dipshit.

    ReplyDelete
  46. If it was a racist comment then it just shows the level of class and intelligence from the other 10000 people in the kop!!!!!! They see the reaction of the player involved, then start to sing suarez name.....coincedence?......think not. Very classy, but would you expect anything else from a club firmly stuck in a time warp. A time when they were a sucessful club and that sort of behaviour was acceptable. Even gerrard went over to calm the situation. As a club your actions over the last few weeks have been disgracefull and if i were a Liverpool fan i would be deeply embarrassed!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Are you an idiot??  Really, are you?

We don't yet know what happened AND it was one person!

    ReplyDelete
  48. You're saying it's right, but it's acceptable? I've been supporting Liverpool for 27 years. I supported Luis Suarez, throughout his recent trouble, and to an extent still do (he was using a term that has a different connotation in South America). I saw the game, and it what I can say is clear, is that Adeyebi, was upset. If...and I repeat IF something was said that was racist then this can never be acceptable. As a team we will deserve punishment if racist comments were made. YNWA always.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This is just the beginning I'm afraid. As much as you want this to be 'black and white' - it isn't - and such binary reduction puts you in racial profiling waters. The FA are now guilty of the very thing they self-righteously tried to rail against. Now we have a murderous political campaign against Suarez, Dalglish, and Liverpool, who have already been politically blackmailed into giving up their appeals and issuing a player apology. These outside groups like Kick it Out are now seeking to further defame a player based on a kangeroo court, a probability case, and the FA's own admission of character preference (which is legally unethical if not racially motivated). They have ignored Evra's own slurs and threats to Suarez, Evra's history of racial epithets supported by video, and the previous FA dismissals of his 'character.' The FA took an unprecedented case, an unprecedented procedure, an unprecedented punishment and decided to aim it at a South American player with a poor command of English, new to the country. As it's official scapegoat, they chose a person of mixed race, denigrated his worth in court, and produced a decision based on lip readers from Manchester. They should be ashamed!  This of course deflects from the much more cut and dry case involving a British player, the England captain no less. By the lack of parity in treating these players the FA is promoting something akin to racial discrimination. The fact that Lord Ousley is affiliated with Manchester United makes the recent statements all the more regrettable. If you truly want to kick racism out of football you have to be equitable and fair in accessing all sides of the race question, and all cultural associations.  You also must consider that you are trying to assassinate the character of a player that used the Spanish word for 'black' when the original charge was falsely based around the much stronger N word.  What you are seeking to defend will actually bring about more racism in football because now any player can get another player banned and politically assassinated on a hearsay allegation.  Your actions, and the statements from people like Jason Roberts, are actually promoting inequality, subjectivity, and racial profiling.  Witness how the media have sanctimoniously jumped in based on such reductive political correctness and how the player's own mother now fears for his safety.  Also, do a modicum of research on Suarez's race relations, there are videos a plenty on youtube, and you will find that there isn't a less racist player in the premiership.

    ReplyDelete
  50. What a ridiculous comment.

    ReplyDelete
  51. If this is what it looks like, then firstly the persons responsible should be banned for life and secondly the club should hang its head in shame for their clumsy handling of the Suarez affair that seems to have given some idiots the go ahead for abuse. I'm not saying they should have hung Suarez out to dry so as to not appear racist but if this is what we dread, the club's behaviour has precipitated this.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Dude shut up mate if you've got nothing sensible to say then don't say anything at all. If u actually listen to yourself you sound like an ignorant twat. Firstly if being liberal is being an idiot then that makes you a far right 'thicko'. Secondly, what would you know about rascism in football? are you a professional footballer and are you black or asian-apparently not. So don't go labelling Jason Roberts or anyone else that has a standing in football and seems to have an opinion as an idiot either. There is a clear difference between 'scouse jokes' which I would consider as banter or jest and 'rascist remarks' which is totally unacceptable. Should we actually start going to the childish extreme of using rascist white abuse in football grounds and to the players, before this is actually  taken seriously within the sports, community and country as a whole.

  56. I think Liverpool are sitting ducks for any player to claim they were abused. Strange this is the first instance of such an 'upsetting' incident for a player immediately after the mismanaged and prejudiced actions of the FA.  Time for a lower league player to raise his profile says this rather sceptical observer.

  63. Because its one way to be hostile. You are defending what you belong to in the context of why 'Others' are not like you.
It is based upon race, nationality, cast, religion, political or religious disposition, relative wealth, region of origin, football team you support, part of town you live in, how tall you are, how fat others are, what clothes they wear how they smell, how smart they are.....
It's human nature and it wont go away, its the other side of the coin to having pride in yourself. However you see that.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Let's wait and see what the Police and the Referee Reports says.

I hope the fans didn't racially abuse any of the Oldham Black Players as that would be a HUGE NAIL IN THE COFFIN of LFC as we know it.

I just pray that the fans have behaved themselves because LFC have a huge mountain to climb footballing terms and in racial terms.

    ReplyDelete
  67. We chant his name because we believe him to be innocent despite the charge against him. Let's hope in life you are never convicted of something you deny you did, but are found guilty of it because the jury presiding your case said you 'probably' did it. The FA law is an ass!!

  68. LiverpoolFCBarcelona10:31 pm, January 06, 2012

When I chant Suarez name, it's not in support of racism, It is in support of my teams Striker. People are quick to judge when they don't take all details into consideration, when Jay Z uses the N word, it's not racist and nobody says a thing, because it is accepted that he can say that, just as in Uruguay it is the norm.

  70. I have always thought I was a decent, fair and common sense thinking guy - according to the FA, Lord Ousley, Jason Roberts etc etc I have got this case completely wrong - Therefore I must be a racist then and all who think like me? @Jaimie K - On to another matter, Jaimie what do you think about Patrice Evra having possibly abused the terms and conditions of his work permit with that video which is knocking around from yesterday? I ask because you're site is very good and I always visit to see what you have to say even if I don't always agree with what you post! However you seem to be knowledegable  enough to know if this could be an issue for Patrice Evra? I know it was made in 2004 whilst he was with Monaco but it was made in a London Hotel on British soil so surely he abused the terms of him entering the UK then and had this been public knowledge he would have been removed from the UK and refused a work permit when he went to Man Utd in 2006?

  107. At last a credible Liverpool fan, would love to know what your feeelings are regarding the way your club has acted the last few weeks? If i were you i think i would be ashamed!

    ReplyDelete
  108. According to Twitter reports from people in the Kop the fan shouted 'Manc bastard' and was immediately thrown out of the ground (probably for being thick as Adeyemi is from Norwich!)

    ReplyDelete
  109. The Mirror, and it's already been proven a LIE

    ReplyDelete
  110. That's probably cause you have such a limit vocabulary :-D

    ReplyDelete
  111. But Deebo it is NOT a one-club issue.  Scapegoating one player and one club actually makes things worse.  If someone abused the kid they should be banned for life - but don't think that this is limited to Anfield.  The moral posturing by the media, other clubs, other players, is just opening deeper wounds.  All racist chants must stop - as must the "racist b***" chants aimed at Suarez by Man U and other fans.

  112. I was in the kop tonight (like every home game) an watched what happened with great interest after everything that has been going on. When the lad got excited and started pointing there was no reaction from anyone in the kop, stewards, photographers or the police. If there was any racist comments I'm sure there would have been at least some head turning at the very least but nothing or any reaction from anyone. JK you need to stop trying to earn affiliate income and hits on your blog for your site off the back of suggesting something happened when you are only speculating and giving everyone else more fuel to have a go at us; no ones knows anything. I seriously sometimes wonder about you JK. Also, FFS, for once don't hide behind your bullshit excuse "you don't like what I write then go else where". Let's not forget without all of your readers you would be no where. Go on give your shit other excuse that your being objective and I should stop looking through my red tinted glasses! Only way to know how your team is really doing is by putting your hand in your pocket and supporting them on a regular basis in the stands. Bet you were salivating at the mouth and couldn log into your Wordpress site quick enough to post this article.

    ReplyDelete
  113. it seems like a lot of people are enjoying repeating what was "supposed" to have been said just so they can get the thrill of saying it themselves.
Writing it in large capitols too!!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Tormentor in chief eh Kanwar? At least you admit it now.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I agree with you, but on the condition that it was a racist comment. We have to accept that a fan will support their team, and will be hostile towards their opponents. The level of hostility is where lies the acid test. If it is personal abuse, such as the kind of abuse David Beckham used to get (directed towards his wife and children) then it is totally unacceptable. If it is racial abuse then it is personal and so cannot be acceptable.

Suarez made a comment which in context, in this society is racist. I support him in that I accept that if the comments took place in South America, it would be acceptable, as it is not an offensive term there. I guess thinking about it, it is similar to the term "Sadhar Ji" which is a punjabi term for a man wearing a turban. It is often used in India, and indeed in the UK, amongst Indians and is not in the least bit racist - it is an identity. And whilst the term "negro" is dated in the developed 1st world, it is an acceptable, and non-racist term in South America as a whole.  Do I agree with the punishment, I'm not sure. I do feel sorry for Luis, but can ignorance be an excuse. I still support him as my player, I don't believe he is racist, and I do think he will learn that the term he used has no place in our society.

  117. If you're a Liverpool fan then how do you feel we've been treated by the FA? Have you actually read what happened? The lies by the FA? The withholding of evidence? You know we're not a racist club but the the fans are really angry. I've never known anything like this from our club and its all down to the FA.

  118. what news you dumb ass are you a mind reader write about it if and when something is confirmed other wise your just sh*t stiring!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  119. if an individual on the KOP shouted something racist and can be identified then that one individual can be prosecuted, he would have broken the law. 120. Jeeez!!!! How the hell did they have this story printed up so fast??? Someone look at the time stamp on it. Would not surprise me if it was written before the incident.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Good point. Nothing was done to the Fulham fans....But we know the FA are anti-Liverpool and pro-United so they'll make sure they get us somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  122. You sanctimonious twats

    ReplyDelete
  123. No this is incorrect.  The fans were singing the Suarez song before the incident kicked off.  The fans and the club have every right to support their player, who was not convicted of racism in any court, and whom the FA and Evra has said is not racist.  If there is a problem - then it is one or two fans at best.  Every team in the country has this problem - you can't scapegoat one club and one player - that's discrimination!

    ReplyDelete
  124. you got access to the internet..start using it.

    ReplyDelete
  125. A coin was thrown and the fan ejected, too many stories already starting to appear about racism by rival supporters, ignore them

    ReplyDelete
  126. Your are the moron. I would have said that there were many more significant incidents in the game than what might have been said once. These guys earn a fortune from the people they are accusing and happily take the money home after the game. Grow up, they are milking the situation and would happily do what they accuse someone else of.

  127. BEAUTIFULLY PUT TKP! well done i agree whole heartedly!

  128. One? How many were chanting Suarez?  And how antiracist has Kenny been?

You expect this from eastern europe or millwall. Not liverpool. Total shame on you

  131. Blurt, its not the rasism, sorry racism!, its the injustice and mind blowing single minded biased one sided views of the press, its like any balance has been totally removed because of the 'Racism' cause. The press scum jumping on the bandwagon brainwashing everybody in every corner of the land, are the same people that lambast, bully, castigate, hate, encourage hate, against good people like Beckham, G Taylor, Robson, etc. etc. Previously LFC have had one of the best records when it comes to kicking out racism.....

    ReplyDelete
  132. you also have to consider that both player were talking in Spanish, which is alright using the words.

    ReplyDelete
  133. lfc is paying luis while suspended, i think from now on what ever goes wrong will be blamed one way or another on luis, boys and gals we are not in grade 3 anymore, fans get drunk and say things they don't mean anything, i feel bad for the black kid but so do i feel cheated by the way the fa conducted them slefs toward luis.

    ReplyDelete
  134. well, an unbelievable level of stupidity from supporters of suarez.

the way dalglish has supported a racist act via the tshirt fiasco has turned him,the players, and the fans that stick up for them into collaborators.

its amazed me how liverpool fc have basically got away with defending a racist act and how dalglish has kept his job.

he is either stupid or a racist.

    you choose.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Merseyside Police have confirmed none was arrested for racially aggrevated offences at Anfield.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I fully agree with you, large sections of the Chelsea fanbase chanted "Anton Ferdinand, you know what you are!". Now, this followed the game after John Terry was aleged to have called Mr Ferdinand "a f****** black c***".  It's personal abuse, and though not explicit in it's language, I feel that the chanting can only relate to what Mr Terry has aleged to have said (given that Mr Ferdinand wasn't a Genk player.

I truly believe that we are going to see a mass reform, a much greater intollerance to racism, and as a result, a reduction in the ignorant racists that detract from the vast majority of footballing supporters.

    ReplyDelete
  137. IF it was racism then LFC will come down hard on the individuals involved, without the need for another trial by media. By the way, was Schmeichel ever investigated by the FA over Ian Wright's allegation that Schmeichel racially abused him?

    ReplyDelete
  138. i choose to believe your words make you stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  139. 5-1 win in the FA cup no report of the game Carroll scores, Downing gets his first LFC goal and you HEADLINE one incident that may or may not have occoured I would have started with 20mins gone Oldham battering Liverpool. yet again you turn it in to something no doubt the rags will also pick up on.

    ReplyDelete
  140. No LFC fans were arrested on Kop tonight. Three were ejected, but this was unrelated to the Adeyemi incident. Police at the ground confirm this

    ReplyDelete
  141. no they haven't. Get your facts right.

    ReplyDelete
  143. lol Ohhhh, you threatened them with the Press Complaints Commission? I'm sure the Mail will be collectively wetting themselves. Haven't you been watching The Levinson Enquiry. As for little Lewy the rat, can you people not accept a guilty verdict?

    ReplyDelete
  144. guestt which in Uruguay means IDIOT.

    I do not condone racists.
The FA and Evra said Suarez is not a racist.
The Kop are supporting our player.
    end of.

    ReplyDelete
  145. So every time Suarez's name is either chanted or even mentioned on the Kop its racist....What a gobshite really you are.   You are probably an 'out of townie' just like the divvy who has allegedly abused the player.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I think Spurs should have been punished. I think any team, whose so called supporters, are hostile in  being racist, homophobic, or otherwise personal in their abuse of players, should be punished. It's my opinion, but I know I'm not alone in my thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  151. If Suarez is a racist for using a word considered racist in england, then you are stupid! Because what you are saying is stupid in all countries and  any language.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Eyewitnesses saw two fans wearing Luis Suarez t-shirts, and heard one of them clearly shout "You f***ing black b*****d."

    ReplyDelete
  153. I am not a LFC fan but a season ticket holder at Aston Villa and I would say that you should wait to see what the trouble was first as speculation is very dangerous.

If it is that someone shouted racist abuse at the Oldham player then I fear it would have serious implications for LFC.

The trouble is no club can control the odd lunatic shouting racist or other abuse at players just like they can't stop the odd maniac running onto the pitch.

It would be a huge shame if one idiot has dragged a great club and its wonderful supporters into the gutter.

I do think LFC's handling of the whole Suarez affair has been a monumental PR disaster but it's time we all put it to bed and together kick racism out of football for good.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Apparently he was called a black bastard - and I've got no axe to grind with Liverpool but your defence of LS is absurd. Either he used a racist term deliberately to offend someone or he's a idiot and didn't know that the word was offensive. Take your pick.   http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liverpool-new-racism-row-Fan-arrested-on-suspicion-of-abusing-black-Oldham-player-Tom-Adeyemi-article849913.html

    ReplyDelete
  155. We dont know what if anything was said yet but a club cant be held accountable for an individual, however whatever was said if it was in a racist manner the fans in the area should point out the offender and the courts should do the rest

    ReplyDelete
  156. oh you must be the stupidest person on here, bar none. and that is saying something. If I don't use the internet, how do you suppose I wrote the comment????? Now go sit in the corner and scratch your head. Numbnuts!!

    ReplyDelete
  157. Or you understand why they did that instead of being a misguided person like yourself. Liverpool FC as a collective did in NO WAY support racism, they supported a player Against the Charges of Racism. It is a completely different issue and most of the people against Suarez or Liverpool as a club have shown their own racist or unnecessary prejudice when they try to take the "high ground".

  161. On another note Jamie.
Why does your site have a big ad for the Salford Utd vs Blackburn?

    ReplyDelete
  162. No, supporting Suarez is not supporting Racism. Get that into your thick head, you are brainwashed!!!  People like you are in danger of creating a new breed of 'Racist'.  You need to find a proper clear case to champion rather than an ambiguous, complex case such as this based on the word of a disgusting, lying, black man who was coached by the FA....Kenny is not racist, he is infuriated at the injustice!!!

    ReplyDelete
  163. right or wrong, you are still stupid.
btw, get a life see the world before you accuse anyone racist again.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Another irresponsible and libellous claim.  Dalglish, the club, and the fans have every right to defend or support their player.  The player was NOT convicted of racism - nor has he appeared in an court of law to determine this.  The FA panel hearing was not up to court standard and he was convicted on "probability" and having a lesser character (discrimination due to his lack of English).  Both Evra (who has since been seen to use the N word towards other players on youtube videos - no not the Spanish word for 'black' either) and the FA have stated that Suarez is not racist.  So why are you calling him one?  Do you have something against South American Immigrants?

    ReplyDelete
  165. he was hit with a coin so fucking get over it !!!

  166. Thanks for that Kevin, I do mind PR disaster regarding the handling as the truth is more important. It is only a PR disaster to those with clouded judgments. But I appreciate your sensible view.

  170. I not sure if anyone has already said this.. but if it was only 2 fans like the Mirror has said wearing Suarez shirts... who said they where LIVERPOOL FANS?

It could of been NON-LIVERPOOL FC Fans.. there to cause trouble.

The tickets for this match where on sale most of this week so anyone could of picked up a ticket and they where not Full Priced tickets so it could have been anyone. yes.. Suarez Shirts (if the home shirt with 7 - Suarez) on the back are not cheap but some people would go to extermes to get another club in trouble

    ReplyDelete
  171. Totally agree Raj and any fans around the bigots (if Racist remarks were used) then hopefully they could of informed the stewards.
Also I think we should cut out the vile songs regarding opposition players.
Just on Sky sports it was a racial remark. Hopefully any fans around them can blow them up. We don't need these bigots at the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  172. He's an idiot for not knowing how much this country makes of the smallest things and then blows it up to sell papers!!!! I would not be offended if someone called me negro!! I dont know many black guys who would. Especially as he has black in him.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Clearly, it depends on the number of people participating.....the club cant be accountable for a few mindless idiots, hopefully, they will be dealt with and banned for life. If, however, racist chants rung out around the ground, then we and the club deserve to punished.

Part of Suarez's problems have been blamed on 'bad drafting' by the lawyers for starters.
