Newcastle Manager Alan Pardew has heaped praise on Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy ahead of his side's clash with Liverpool on Friday evening.
With 3 goals and 4 assists so far this season, Bellamy has been something of a revelation for Liverpool, and Pardew believes he's up there with the very best. He enthused:
"Craig Bellamy is one of the top 10 to 15 strikers in the country.
"He has been as good as any Liverpool player this season.
"Craig is a born winner with a great all-round game and every time I see him, he tries to affect the game. It is astonishing he was in the Championship last year".
"I like players like him and we'll keep a close eye on him."
Here's hoping Bellamy starts against Newcastle. My preferred line-up:

ReplyDeleteAjay... lol.. for someone who cant control a football, 11 goals in 12 games... id rather have someone scoring 11/12 with no ball control than a Suarez that does everything right, but cant score.. at the moment, i mean.. we all know Suarez is a unique talent but dont take anything away from Maxi...

ReplyDeleteAnd since no Carragher in the team...Glen Johnson doesn't seem to make mistakes or be out of position ..playing good football aswell is glen....Carragher was the problem....
I'd say Maxi should be playing on the right hand side and Downing should be played on the left and Kuyt should be on the bench as Kuyt offers more work rate and endeavour than Maxi and Downing. But he does not offer more speed or creativity as Downing and Maxi and the reason we are struggling is we can't score goals. Its not stopping goals, as we have best defence and Gk in league at the moment.
ReplyDeleteIts we do not score enough goals at all and thats shocking considering the amount of clear cut chances and missed penalties we have had this season, One of 4 things that king kenny has messed up with this year, 1 for letting meireles and Aquilani both leave club, should have kept hold of one of them. Two Bellamy is easily fastest player at club and when he was at Man City he was their fastest player and season he left them he was their best and player of season, so he needs to be in starting 11 week in week out, no matter that he is 32. he offers us more than Downing, Kuyt put together. Three maxi should have started alot more games ahead of Henderson, Maxi and Bellamy should have played either side of Suarez more often than not as one side offers pace, speed, movement and good thinking the other side offers creativity, good movement, link up play, good eye for a goal. And i think Maxi should play right, Downing left and Bellamy through the centre with Gerrard just in the hole behind. Then when Suarez is back in 9 games time, if Downing is still struggling he should hit the bench and let Bellamy switch to left and Suarez to go back in the centre as the loan striker.

The game with New Castle will be very open... so there will be goals in it, so it will be better to have Maxi in the team who knows to put the ball in the net. However, I would put Downing as well. Though I like the guy cant have Kuyt esp. on the right side... this season he has not been in form at all. May be its going to be his last season. Hope SG's return inspires these players. YNWA

ReplyDeleteTotally disagree with the starting lineup.First of all we dont know if Gerrard is fit to start a game.Even if he is fit to start a game,he'll come off at 60-65th minute as he is not match fit.I would like to see this:

Benko, Downing can get drowned by your comments but you call a spade a spade. One problem with Kenny, he buys overrated British players. Downing is a second choice cos Ashley Young went to the scums. We are still on the drawing boards and Kenny knows it.
