AGENT admits: Rumours about £40m Uruguay Star are 'pleasing'...

Edinson Cavani's agent Claudio Anellucci has confirmed that rumours of the striker's exit from Napoli are greatly exaggerated.

When asked on Radio CRC yesterday about interest from Liverpool and Chelsea, Anellucci seemed to refute any possibility of a January transfer:

"These rumours are pleasing, but rumours are part of the game and the world of football.

"I think about the serious things and not the rumours.

"Cavani said that he is good at Napoli and so there is no reason to worry, because he has no problem to stay in Naples."

The chances of Liverpool signing Cavani seem very slim at the moment anyway, especially after Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis recently slapped a £40m price tag on the player.

Still, there is a strong South American presence at Anfield, and when the time comes, perhaps that could be a deciding factor.

  2. Without champions league their is no chance of Liverpool signing Cavani or any other star player and its looking more and more likely that Liverpool will again miss out on champions league this season.

  3. Thanks to Dalglish and his average signings.

  4. True there seems to be less chances of Liverpool qualifying for the CL end of the season, we got Chelsea and Arsenal at the moment fighting for the forth place and they got more depth than LFC has.

  5. I never heard of this guy. Put more sense in this as what Bomber25 said. This is not a cattle market.

  6. Considering he had Suarez already, don't get why we went for Carroll, instead of Cavani.

  11. A new technical director in the mould of Van Basten :
1.who has played at the highest level
2.Who can attract and spot world-class potential- Zidane at Real-
should be appointed in place of D.Comolli with final say over
player recruitment.Comolli like Houllier before him, struggles with truly brilliant players and prefers mediocres beholding to him. Enough of Liverpool appointing football technocrats who never played the game and carry huge chips on their shoulder;they are wrecking my beloved club of 35 years standing. It is heartbreaking;truly is.I referred to Messrs Benitez,Houllier,Hodgson etal.
Dalglish should move upstairs as honorific life president if we don't make top 4.
Please disagree but do not abuse.

  13. Arsenal? More depth? Better first 11 maybe, but our strength in depth is far superior to Arsenal's! They've only got more decent strikers. We've got more playable defenders and midfielders than they do. We've even got 2 out and out wingers(Downing/Maxi), they've got none!
