LUCAS: Luis Suarez is better than this brilliant Brazilian...

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has been in fine form this season, and although he is not renowned for his attacking ability (!), the Brazilian admires and appreciates attacking play, and this was evident when he recently revealed his five favourite South American players.

Unsurprisingly, Lucas selected four Brazilians in his top five!

5. Daniel Alves

"He's been brilliant for many years for Barcelona. He's playing for one of the best teams I've ever seen, and his form has been great for the national team too".

4. Tiago Silva

"For me, he is one of the best defenders in the world, and I really enjoy playing with him in the national team".

3. Neymar

"In Brazil, he's doing really well, and he's on the list for the 23 best playwers in the world. He has great talent and ability. When he comes to Europe, everyone will have a better idea of what I'm saying"

2. Luis Suarez

"Everyone can see how good he is for Liverpool, and how good he was for Ajax. He's been playing really well for years, and scoring a lot of goals. He's one of the best strikers in the world".

1. Lionel Messi

"He's Argentinean but I had to pick him because he's the best player in the world at the moment, and if he continues like that, we don't know how far he will go. It's just amazing watching him play"

  5. Lucas...learn how to pass forward before commenting on others!

  6. Yes Lucas learn quickly - the pass to Suarez against West Brom was a not really a forward pass, the chip over the villa defense for Babel to volley was also not good enough for a forward pass, through ball to Gerrard at Newcastle was also another example of not passing forward I guess.

    Short memories.

  7. dude, you're stuck in 2009. Even then, Lucas was still really young and learning but always reliable
