DALGLISH: "The people who said that are looking a bit stupid now..."

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has dismissed suggestions that his players will gain extra motivation from playing against Anfield old-boys Fernando Torres and Raul Meireles on Sunday, but he has highlighted two players who could be a serious threat for Chelsea in the upcoming Premier League game.

Earlier in the season, Frank Lampard was on the bench for both Chelsea and England; he was swiftly written-off by the Press, which argued his career was on the wane, and his time as a top player had passed.

That's definitely not a view shared by Dalglish:

"I don't think there was any suggestion from here that Frank Lampard's time had passed, so I think the people that said are looking a bit stupid now".

Indeed they are - Lampard has scored 6 goals and created three more in his last 9 games for Chelsea, and he'll definitely be a threat on Sunday.

Spain International Juan Mata is another player that worries Dalglish:

"Juan Mata is a very good player, I just hope he has a nightmare on Sunday!"

Mata's recent form suggests that this is not likely to happen, but let's hope Dalglish's words come true on Sunday!

  1. An interesting up and coming game but I simply cannot see us scoring in all honesty. We are pretty toothless up front and what with Drogba back they aren't!
