ROBBIE FOWLER: "I don’t know how to say this, but he’s not a lovely man"

Robbie Fowler recently took his first step into football management by becoming caretaker coach of Thailand's Muang Thong United. During his glorious time at Liverpool, Fowler played under 4 different managers, including Graeme Souness, who gave him his big chance in the first team. In a recent interview with the Official site, Fowler was full or praise for his former manager, especially his handling of young players.

"He was scary to be fair, but as a young lad getting into the game, he was absolutely first class with me.

"He gave me my chance, and he knew what I was capable of, and I was always grateful for that.

"I don’t know how to say this but he’s not a lovely man, but I got on very well with him. His persona away from when you knew him was different.

"He took us all under his wing. I think he was brilliant with us. He was probably like Alex Ferguson in the way he treated his younger players".

A comparison with Alex Ferguson? Rare praise indeed. Having said that, Let's hope that Fowler doesn't take the Souness approach to management at Muangthong United (!)

  5. Hilarious. The misleading headline you've used Kanwar is clearly begging for this pointless article to be read. I read, and will never get that 30 seconds back.
Give it up, you'll never break it big time as you talk utter bollocks.... and thats saying something.
