DALGLISH: New updates on Alberto Aquilani, Joe Cole and Jonjo Shelvey...

Liverpool have a number of players out on loan at the moment, and in a new interview with the official site, Kenny Dalglish outlined the positives of the loan system, and provided some timely updates on the club's loanees.

Dalglish was keen to stress that he keeps a close watch on the all the club's loan players:

"We keep monitoring them. We know what’s going on; we get a summary of what games they’ve played in and what they’ve done, how they’ve done, and how the club are feeling about them".

On Jonjo Shelvey:

"He’s a very promising player for us. The difficulty for us is to get him a game. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Jonjo to get games.

"Blackpool are getting a good quality player. We’ve put him out because we want him educated; we want him to develop, not because we want to see him go"

An Alberto Aquilani:

"For Alberto, it was an opportunity for him to go back home. If he does well, then they [AC Milan] will purchase him".

On Joe Cole:

"For Joe Cole, it’s a fantastic opportunity for him to go and play Champions League football in France, which is a league that will suit Joe down to the ground. He’s done really well since he’s gone there".

On Peter Gulacsi:

"It’s good for Peter Gulacsi tooo. When he gets games at a higher level then we can give him games too".
