VIDEO: Lauri Dalla Valle - Liverpool FC's next big thing?

Along with Daniel Pacheco and Krisztian Nemeth, Finnish teen Lauri Dalla Valle is one of Liverpool's most exciting prospects.

Liverpool have done pretty well so far when it comes to Finnish players - Sami Hyypia and Jari Litmanen were fantastic for the club, and if Dalla Valle displays even half of the quality and professionalism of those two, we'll have a very special player on our hands.

In his first season at Anfield, Dalla Valli scored 20 goals in 28 games for the under 18s. Pretty impressive I'm sure you'll agree! Hopefully, he'll get some chances in the first team at some point.

  4. You might be interested to know that Dalla-Valle has submitted a transfer request and was on the brink of a move to Fulham during the summer transfer window.

He was initially promoted to train at Melwood after his successes with the Under18s last season. But having had a look at him, rather like he did with Ecclestone last season, Liverpool have sent him back to the Academy for the foreseeable future.

This has prompted a transfer request, and Fulham were bidding in the region of £3.5m towards the end of August. Had they gone as high at £5m, I am (fairly) reliably informed by a source within the club that Liverpool would have accepted.

  5. Reports of his alleged transfer request are unconfirmed, but you can understand why if he did put in a request.  Youth team players just do not get a chance at Liverpool, so why should he damage his career by rotting in the reserves for the next few years?

  7. Unconfirmed in the media, but a reliable source from with the club confirmed it on RAWK.

Our youth set-up is a subject that is worthy of a book.
