Message to Klopp: Molby insists 'incredible' £80k-a-week Liverpool star must 'start' vs Everton. Agree?

With Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana out injured, Klopp will once again be forced to change things up in central midfield, and according to Reds legend Jan Molby, one of Liverpool's fringe players has to come back into the reckoning.

In his Friday column for the Liverpool Echo, Molby insisted:

"I’d start Lucas in midfield. His experience will be important in dealing with Ross Barkley. It’s not ideal shifting Emre Can from that holding role, but he can do a job a bit further forward".

Lucas is arguably the superior holding, but Can playing further forward should be a non-starter. If Can is pushed forward, he gets delusions of grandeur, and the hero complex very quickly kicks in.

Cue aimless Hollywood balls, pointless drag-backs/back-heels, and inaccurate attempts at defence-splitting passes.

Can should play where he can do the least damage, and in my view, that's as the deepest midfielder, with a remit to protect the back four, break up play, track runners, and pass the ball off quickly to more skillful, intelligent players.

If Can keeps it simple, he can be an effective holding player, and the recent draw with Man City proved that. My preferred lineup:

------------- Mignolet
Arnold ---- Matip - Lovren ---- Clyne
------ Milner -- Can --- Wijnaldum
------ Mane -- Coutinho -- Firmino

^ Lucas: Reportedly on £80k-a-week. Described as 'incredible' by Graham Le Saux
