Moby insists: Liverpool must 'replace' Lovren with £80k-a-week Brazilian for LCFC game

Who should replace injured defender Dejan Lovren for Liverpool's Premier League clash with Leicester City?

Lovren missed several training sessions this week as a result of an ongoing knee injury, and is reportedly a 'major doubt' for Monday's game at the King power stadium, and according to Reds legend Jan Molby, there is only one choice to replace the Croatian:

"If he [Lovren] doesn’t make it, Lucas’s performance against Spurs puts him in front of Klavan to replace him. When he’s playing centre-back, Lucas's reading of the [is] his strength".

Lucas received deserved praise for 'fantastic' performance against Spurs, with Chelsea legend Graham Le Saux describing the Brazilian as an 'incredible servant' for Liverpool. Lucas's stats also show his defensive influence on the game:

* Won more defensive aerial duels than anyone on the pitch (bar Ben Davies)

* More tackles, clearances, Interceptions, and blocks than any other LFC player (including dedicated centre-half Joel Matip)

* One of only 3 LFC players who didn't lose possession during the game.

* Didn't concede a single foul all game, and helped restrict Spurs to just two shots on target all game.

Lucas's job as a centre-half is to stop the opposition scoring goals, and he did that against one the best attacks in the Premier League. As such, using the merit system, Lucas clearly deserves to start against Leicester.
