Klopp Shock: 'Excellent' €35m Liverpool star suffers late injury; out of Leicester; scan reveals heavy bruising

Liverpool have been hit by some bad news ahead of tonight's must-win Premier League game with Leicester City.

According to the Liverpool Echo, one of the Reds' key players is definitely out of tonight's match:

"Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of tonight's clash with Leicester City due to a foot injury. Henderson was hurt in training on Friday after a challenge with a team-mate".

How bad is the injury? Luckily, it appears to be a comparatively minor case of 'heavy bruising':

"Henderson was sent for a scan...but results showed that there is no fracture. He is also a major doubt for this Saturday's showdown with Arsenal".

Henderson is not irreplaceable by any means, but the reality is that Liverpool rarely win when he's not in the team:

* This Season: 2 wins in 7 games (28%)  without Hendo.

* 2015-16: 15 wins in 36 games (42%)

* Win % last two seasons without JH: 39% (17 wins in 43 games).

This isn't even the worst news; the killer blow is that Emre Can will probably come back into the team to cover Henderson, so get ready for woefully inaccurate attempts at Hollywood passes, dawdling on the ball, and at least two utterly pointless drag-backs.

* €35m-rated (CIES Football Observatory). Described by Steven Gerrard as 'excellent'.
