Decision Made: 'Dangerous' €25m attacker that 'Liverpool want to sign' is desperate for a transfer to Las Palmas

Do Liverpool have any chance of signing PSG attacker Jese Rodriguez this month?

In mid-December, Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez confirmed that 'Liverpool want to sign' Jese.

Soon after, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claimed:

"Jese is on the market and available for loan. His wages are too high for Las Palmas. Middlesbrough are interested but they aren’t the only club".

Alas, it appears that Jese is only interested in signing for one team, and it isn't Liverpool. According to Sky Sports:

"Liverpool are linked with Jese, but the 23-year old has reiterated that he'll only join his hometown club Las Palmas".

Marca further added:

"Jese does not want to hear any other offer except the one from Las Palmas. Jese's agent is trying to convince Patrick Kluivert [PSG sporting director] to let him go".

This deal always seemed unlikely, and to be honest, it's looking increasingly unlikely that Liverpool will making any signings anyone during the current transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp usually gets his transfer business done early, and given the fact it's almost the third week in January, the chances of signing someone are dissipating with each passing day.

Do the Reds need to sign anyone, or is the current squad good enough, and fit/robust enough to sustain a genuine title challenge?

* Hailed by former Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as a 'dangerous' player. Cost PSG €25m.
