Klopp to Sign? Liverpool want 'incredible' €30m powerhouse who can reach 'Pogba's level'

According to Jurgen Klopp's most rabid acolytes, Liverpool don't need a dedicated defensive midfielder, but it appears that the Reds are actually planning to bring in a DM during the January transfer window.

According to UK reports on Tuesday:

* Liverpool are interested in signing Geoffrey Kondogbia.

* Klopp is interested in a short-term loan deal from Jan to May.

Some info about Kondogbia, who has been relegated to the bench for Inter's last two games:

* 23-year old defensive-midfielder, who can also play in other central midfield positions. Current contract expires: 2020. Cost Inter €30m. 34 apps for Inter (1 goal/1 assist).

Aug 2014: Arsene Wenger's view: "Kondogbia is a very interesting player and he's one of the promising stars, just behind Pogba".

* Jun 2015: Ex-France boss Raymond Domenech raved: "Kondogbia has the potential to reach Pogba's level. He was incredible in the Champions League".

* Sep 2016: Frank De Boer barked: "He makes the same mistakes often. We cannot accept that from players when we’ve told them many times".

It seems unlikely that Inter will allow a player who cost €30m to go out on a 'short-term' loan just one year after signing for the club, but stranger things have happened.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly tried to sign Kondogbia for Dortmund back in 2013, so his renewed interest makes sense. Do Liverpool need a player like Kondogbia?
