Anfield Alert: 'Exciting' £25m Liverpool star admits he's 'not happy' and insists he must 'do better'

Eight games into the season, and Georgino Wijnaldum is yet to score a goal for Liverpool, and this is something that clearly frustrates the £25m summer signing.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports over the weekend, Wijnaldum admitted:

"I am not really happy with my own performances, because I know I can do better. I have to score goals. If a team helps me to get in the positions, I can deliver".

It's hardly surprising that Wijnaldum is struggling to score - as he himself confirmed in the same interview, Klopp is playing him out of position in a 'deeper' role, where's he's not encouraged to 'play that high up the pitch'.

As such, Wijnaldum's frustration is understandable - after building his career in an attacking role, he is now - by his own admission - being forced to 'stay' and hold in midfield whilst Lallana and Henderson 'go' forward.

On the plus side, Wijnaldum - who cost Liverpool £25m - has (surprisingly) created more chances in the league (12) than Henderson (10), Lallana (9), and Mane (8), so with a bit of luck, his assist figures may improve over the season.
