Coutinho raves: Exciting £29m attacker is a 'top player' with 'real quality'. Liverpool transfer success?

Brazilian duo Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are Liverpool's creative heartbeat, and with both players having a great start to the season, Coutinho has hailed his compatriot's ongoing impact at Anfield.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo this week, Coutinho admitted he 'really enjoys' playing with Firmino, and further raved:

“Roberto is a top player. He works so hard to make the best of his ability. I knew that Liverpool had signed a player with real quality and everyone now sees how important he is for us".

Firmino is undoubtedly an important part of Klopp's counter-pressing system, but together, he and Coutinho are vital to Liverpool's overall end product, and their growing influence is obvious from their combined stats:

* Last Season: 39 goals assists combined (40% of Liverpool's total goals)

* This Season: 13 goals/assists combined (50% of Liverpool's total goals)

Clearly, Liverpool are reaping the rewards of a 10% increase in Coutinho and Firmino's collective productivity, but it remains to be seen whether this can be maintained over an entire season.

Luckily, the Reds have Sadio Mane available to pick up the creative slack, and if all three can maintain creative consistency this season, then attack-wise, the sky is potentially the limit.
