Done Deal: Liverpool sign exciting England starlet who rejected Man Utd. 3-year contract

Liverpool have reportedly 'beaten a host of Premier League clubs' to sign 'highly-rated' England youth international Diego Lattie.

According to the Liverpool Echo:

"[Lattie] has long been on Liverpool’s radar...and Academy staff moved quickly after it became clear he could be snapped up without the club having to pay a compensation fee".

Some info about Lattie:

* 16-year old right-back, who can also play at centre-back.

* On Man City's books City’s books since the age of nine, but City decided against offering Lattie a professional contract.

* Boyhood Liverpool fan. 4 apps for England's Under-17 team.

* Lattie allegedly rejected Manchester United, Everton, Norwich, Stoke, Sunderland and Aston Villa to sign for Liverpool on a 3-year deal.

* Apr 2015: Helped England U16s beat France 3-1 in the final of the Montaigu Tournament.

* Is already training with the Reds’ under-16s squad and will join the under-18s in pre-season.

The question is, why did Man City decided to cut Lattie loose?
