After four defeats in the last six games, Liverpool desperately need a victory over Crystal Palace this weekend to get the clubs season back on track, and Reds legend Jan Molby insists that there is one surefire way to increase LFC's chances of winning the game.
In his column for the Liverpool Echo this week, Molby warned that Liverpool are 'desperate for form', noting:
"Liverpool have to start Daniel Sturridge at Crystal Palace. Some people are urging the Reds to take caution after he only returned to full training this week, but Liverpool need him back in the side".
According to Molby, playing Sturridge will:
* Lift the Liverpool players.
* Make Palace slightly uneasy.
* Present a different challenge for Palace.
* Bring pace and sharpness to the team.
Alas, Sturridge is injured again, but the basic point still stands: when Sturridge is fit, Liverpool need him back ASAP, as the club's record without £29m-rated striker is terrible:
* Played: 14
* Won: 4
* Lost: 7
* Drew: 3
* Goal scored: 14
* Won only 2 out of 7 Prem games.
* Failed to win 71% of games.
When Sturridge finally returns it will be a massive boost, but given the utter failure of Balotelli, Borini, Lallana, Henderson, Sterling, and Lambert to chip-in with goals, there will be intolerable pressure on the striker to deliver the goods.
Like with Dejan Lovren, Fans will unreasonably expect Sturridge to come back and immediately rescue Liverpool's season, and that's almost certainly not going to happen.
Additionally, after missing so many games, Sturridge will need time to regain proper match-fitness, and it's also possible that he may subconsciously hold back a little for fear of incurring another injury.
Sturridge is obviously desperate to return, and if asked, he'll probably say he's ready to play. However, Rodgers shouldn't just take his word for it; all players want to play, and even if they're not 100%, they'll tell the manager they're fine. With that in mind, Sturridge should only play if the medical team signs off on his return.
Clearly, when Sturridge nears fitness again, Rodgers will have a big decision to make, and if he gets it wrong and rushes Sturridge back before he's ready, it could further derail Liverpool's season.
As such, it's imperative that the manager errs on the side of caution, and in this instance, it's arguably much better to take a short-term hit for a long-term gain
Whatever happens, Liverpool still need to figure out a way to consistently win without Sturridge. It's ridiculous that the loss of one player can lead to the collapse of the team, but that's the reality right now, and the fault for that lies squarely with Rodgers.

HES INJURED MATE - AGAIN
ReplyDeletewe should just get Benitez, buy Higuain and Lorenzo Insigne for a combined £50M and then try for Paul Pogba as our defensive midfielder for many years. £50M and Juventus will sell. we wanted him in the summer and should follow it up like with Sturridge. and £20M for Yarmolenko. we will score goals for fun. front 4 of
ReplyDelete----------------------Emre Can---------------Pogba
--------Yarmolenko---------------Sterling------------------Insigne
--------------------------------------Higuain
that is a team built around Sterling. he plays so well in the 10 role as seen with his assists to Welbeck, and with the right team built around him LFC will be unstoppable.
Higuain - £30M
Insigne - £20M
Pogba - £50M
Yarmolenko - £20M
bring benitez back and tie up these deals no matter how hard it be.
everything's the worst
ReplyDeletethink about it this way Brendan Rodgers paid £50M for Lallana, Markovic and Lambert. why not just Pogba for £50M? young world class already and would produce more than that trio has in 1 game. £85M we wasted. Lallana, Balotelli, Lovren, Lambert and Markovic. £85M wat a joke
ReplyDeleteThat is stated in the article.
ReplyDeleteOn what basis is Pogba 'world class'?
ReplyDeleteOr Yarmolenko?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to disagree with you JK, but only one sentence. The final one. How does the fault lie solely with Rodg? Yes he needs to shoulder some of the blame, but the players need to improve themselves, they aren't children. These guys have been playing football at top levels for years now and should be able to play better than they are. Most of them were at the club last year and played 10x better, disregarding the fact that Suarez and Sturridge are unavailable. This issue is more than just BR, its the whole club that need to get their act together. Saying the blame lies solely with the gaffer is akin to saying that Sturridge's injury is the medical team's fault, in that it only takes one aspect of the problem into consideration and completely ignores the others.
ReplyDeleteAnd there you go, you've destroyed our whole wage structure, not to mention our transfer budget. We dont have a Suarez to sell, there is no way we can fund those kinds of transfers. So much about it is just so wrong. What happens to Hendo, Allen, Lallana, Coutinho, Sturridge? You think they would be content with bench spots for long? It isnt sustainable and we simply wouldnt be able to afford it. FIFA 15 career mode is fun, but BR isnt playing. Also, what happens when (and it's happened so many times before) any of those guys goes 4 games without scoring, will you be yelling the same thing? There are no guarantees in this amazing game, players are unpredictable, one year they are smashing it (our Torres) and the next they are rubbish (Chelskis Torres). One year they are rocks (Sakho, Lovren, Mignolet, Johnson) and the next they are liabilities. You cant just add x player for y amount and expect results
ReplyDeletePogba is a world class talent. likewise Sterling. in there age bracket he is World Class. plus, Pogba is a full international in a world class france side, had a excellent world cup and has titles with Juventus. in his position he is definately one of the best. in a few years his potential will be scary. he can do it all, literally. and tbh, if he played 11 games for us we wouldnt be in this position, and that is a fact. he is definately worth Markovic and Lovren who have either cost us points or done nothing for the club. Pogba is an athletic warrior.the greatest players have all called him world class, Zidane, Pirlo, Viera. a defensive/central box-to-box midfielder he has got 16 goals/18 assists in 101 games for Juventus and 4 goals/7 assists in 21 games for France. this kid is 21. he is not yet world class like say Yaya Toure, but he is definately a world class talent and can definately compete and is definately worth more than Lovren, Markovic and Lambert who costed £45M.
ReplyDeleteI totally disagree that Pogba is 'world class'. What has he done to earn that title? He has not dominated in the Champions League, or at a major tournament; he has not driven a team to sustained success, yet according to you, he's on the same level as Ronaldo and Messi, who are genuinely world class players.
ReplyDeleteThe 'world class' label is thrown around way to easy. Maradona, Zidane, Beckenbauer, Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo et are world class; Pogba isn't (IMO)
DUMP HIM - He is a waste of space - he has cost Rodgers his job - nobody that misses this number of games is worth keeping - I would be ashamed to pick upo wages if I was him - Thank God it looks like Johnson is leaving - he should have been offered £250 a week - Borini and Balloteli should be DUMPED as well - HOPELESS = NO GOALS IN 888 PREMIER LEAGUE MINUTES.and we stand ZERO chance in CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP- Palace 2 ;Liverpool 0
ReplyDeleteThe buck ultimately stops with Rodgers. He chooses the players, and gives the final okay to sign them. If players like Lallana and Lovren are not reaching the heights of last season, then it's Rodgers' fault - he is responsible for motivation, tactics, formation etc, and so far, he's played Lovren out of position (as a right central defender), and played Lallana in about 4 different positions (instead of giving him a run of games in his best role).
ReplyDeleteNo one twisted Rodgers' arm to spend £20m on Markovic; £14m on Ilori and Alberto; £20m on Borini and Aspas; £18m on Sakho...and the list goes on. If it was one or two players under-performing then that would be normal, but 95% of Rodgers' signings since 2012 have failed to consistently perform, and that's a huge problem.
Only Sturridge and Coutinho are outright successes, and to be honest, Coutinho's form is patchy now too.
Rodgers has either bought the wrong players, or is incapable of motivating them and/or utilising them in the most effective manner, and that means he is ultimately responsible.
listen Sturridge is always injured anyway, which is why i did the formation without him. if hes fit he can come in the side anytime coz hes quality but because he always injured you have to plan a team without him. Allen can kick rocks if we can sign a player of the quality of Pogba. Lorenzo Insigne is on similar wages right now to Sterling so that wouldnt be too much of an issue and Higuain is a world class centre forward who replaces Suarez. we sell Markovic, we sell Lovren, we sell Lambert, we sell Borini, we sell Assaidi. all players who have failed and are not in the plans, get them off the wage bill and bring in the top class players required.
ReplyDeleteHiguain on 150k a week
Pogba on 130k a week - tripling his wage
Insigne on 60k a week - doubling his wage
Yarmolenko on 80k a week - doubling his wage
we could do this but i know it'd be too much of a dream
Higuain on 150k
Hulk on 150k
Reus on 200k - £21M release clause
a front 3 of reus, higuian and hulk will be deadly, sterling pulling the strings
You know my view on this: our problems lie in the unavailability of our two best players. We sold one and the other is injured. We are otherwise the same team playing the same football and it's just not working. Put Suarez and Sturridge back in this line up and Liverpool would almost certainly click back to be the team of last season. I'd even go so far as to say that if we had Sanchez and Sturridge was fit the team would be playing at a similar level and would be comfortably in the top 4.
ReplyDeleteNow of course Rodgers signed off on Balotelli but it was obviously a move of some desperation. He said publicly that it was a risk. We know Liverpool tried for all kinds of players and basically they all knocked us back. Rodgers may not have the allure of a big name coach but it's not his fault that players simply chose not to come here, there is very little he can do about that. Putting that on his shoulders when he has no course of action to correct it is kind of pointless, it's just a blame game. The end result is that Liverpool don't have an effective striker pair up front.
Now the other players like Lallana and Markovic - sure, they're not really contributing yet, but without an effective scoring unit to work with maybe that's understandable. I would suggest that almost all of Liverpool's problems, bar the defence which has always been poor, are due to the loss of Suarez and the injury to Sturridge. No doubt Rodgers needs to find a way for it to work, that's his job and unquestionably his responsibility, but in my view it's not his tactics or his preferred choice of player that is the main issue.
The fault lies squarely with rodgers
ReplyDeletewhen we needed to replace suarez we replaced him with someone his club did not want a glorified penalty specialist
then lambert a overweight scouser what is eh meant to do
this aint even hindsight this is logic we should ahve bought martinez rather then balotelli and eto on a free rather then lambert
we currently have the worst striker force in england and unless we spend big in january there is even a threat of relegation because if you cant score you most likley lose
it done matter southampton lost their whole team
ReplyDeletewe could ahve replaced suarze with martinez /bony or higuain rodgers chose a ac milan, city and inter reject to save us
and what kind of a player is almbert we need a third striker with pace he was only ever going to be another neil mellor
plus we all knew sturridge will get injured it was rodgesr desicon to direct funds on markovic instead when we had ibe
ok compare Pogba to any average 21 year old. as i said he is not world class, but he is a world class young talent. for a DM, to score goals is very hard as you must have a long shot. Pogba does it with ease. i understand where your coming from, but at the same time would not say Eden Hazard is world class? you cant compare any any average 23 year old midfielder to Hazard. Hazard is a world class player whoes full potential is waiting to unlock. but he hasnt won any titles. exactly. Pogba has won serie A 2 years in a row and is part of a side that has removed AC Milan and Inter from the thrown and are dominating Italian Football. how can he not earn the title if he starts every game? he plays alongside Pirlo and Vidal. they obviously believe in him. Pogba has scored few wonder goals in Champions League and Serie A and had a good world cup scoring another goal. World Class players like Ronaldo only scored 1 goal, Yaya Toure scored none, and hasnt dominated in Champions League but has won the title, would you not say he is world class? Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Robben and Suarez, Gareth Bale are just outrageously world class. any stage, any place any where these players will perform. game after game. them 5 are the best. you have to call them Universe class. the rest like Costa, Hazard, Oscar, Ribery, Sanchez, Di Miria, Pogba etc are world class players. Suarez, Ronaldo and co and Universal class
ReplyDeleteIsn't a bit presumptuous to say we could have had Martinez or Huguain? I agree, Rodgers seemed to choose Bony over Balotelli but then Balotelli was quite a bit cheaper. I don't think Rodgers had as much choice as you think. Obviously they tried to plan for life after Suarez but sometimes things just don't work out. I'm being kind to Rodgers on this, I know, but I think the club tried to sign the right players and simply got knocked back.
ReplyDeleteNO let those flop has chance to redeem !
ReplyDeleteSturridge won't play, not after this latest injury. If Mario is fit we'll see exactly the same line up as has been used in most games so far. Maybe Lallana will get a run in the midfield. Rodgers is going to stick with the formation until the players start to get it right. Maybe a run of games against some lesser teams is what they team needs to get some confidence in what they're doing. I make no predictions about if it will work or not but it's obvious enough that Rodgers believes in what he's trying to do and he'll be stubborn enough to not change tactics too much. Just a tweak here and there, maybe a 4-4-2.
ReplyDeletei hate fans who use the excuse of Suarez leaving and Sturridge injured. as Jaimie K said, no1 forced BR to sign all those players and 97% of his deals have failed. if we had not signed none of those players, we kept Agger and simply just signed, Clyne(player we clearly needed)£15M, Schneiderlin(player we cleary needed)£20M, Hulk(top class winger/striker instead of wasting time on Markovic who is not good and always on bench) £35M. Emre Can and Moreno for £22M. total: £97M
ReplyDeletewe'd look like this
-------------------------Mingolet
Clyne---------Toure-----------Agger------Moreno
-----------Emre Can-------Schneiderlin
----Suso------------Sterling----------Coutinho
------------------------Hulk
instead we bought Lallana(good player but not needed as we have Suso who is on his level and potentially better and Sterling who is better and younger and the same position) Lambert(33 yr old man who if not playing every match will never be match fit, so point in signing him?) Lovren(who may be younger than Agger but is not better, definately isnt worth £17M more than Agger) Balotelli(who has proven in his career he is diffucult footballer to work with, and his talent is not Universe class like Suarez, so its not worth it) Markovic(who has proved avsolutely zero to command a 20M fee) ..... BR is a perpetrator of all this, and in a way it looks like hes trying to ruin Liverpool in disguise. Gerrard DM? at our club, LFC? ive watch Gerrard for years and its clear hes not a DM. But BR persists. Allen DM? you having a laugh. we spent alot of money and we could have filled the team with quality, instead we failed with garbage
-------------------------Mingolet
ReplyDeleteClyne---------Toure-----------Agger------Moreno
-----------Emre Can-------Schneiderlin
----Suso------------Gerrard-------------Sterling
------------------------Hulk
"And even if they're not 100%, they'll tell the manager they're fine". Jaimie, Sturridge is never 100%. His threshold is 50.
ReplyDeleteYou "hate" fans? That's a bit extreme.
ReplyDeleteLike I said in the other response, you assume that Liverpool could have signed Hulk, that he was available and wanted to come here. A lot of players turned us down last summer and ultimately there isn't much you can do about that. There is no magic formula and this isn't Football Manager 2015 where you just sign the players you want based on the budget you have assigned. Footballers are human beings and they don't all want to play for Liverpool.
Liverpool tried to sign a bunch of quality strikers including Cavani, Sanchez, Falcao and maybe Higuain. None of those players are here. Why do you think that is?
I'm sorry but I just don't buy that fact that a team should be performing so badly just because they're (technically) missing their two best players, despite the fact that Rodgers spent so much money to make ourselves more equipped for such scenarios. You're basically saying that we're a one-man team. This is how one-man teams perform when their man is unfit- rubbish.
ReplyDeletef off
ReplyDeleteon the international stage Yarmolenko has proved against all the top teams he is a animal, including against England. 18 goals/14 assist in 44 games for Ukraine from RW mainly and up front if needed. for club 84 goals/54 assist in 235 games for D.Kiev. consistent performances over the last few years in Champions League, Europa League, International Football and his own team prove he may not be World Class but top class in his position, and consistent over the last few years
ReplyDeleteTwo man team. We're missing our two strikers, who between them scored or created over half our goals last season and were almost certainly involved in lead-up play for others that don't come up as stats. Didn't Shankley say that football is like a piano ... "You need eight men to carry it and three who can play the damn thing". If two of your three main "players" are no longer in the team and not adequately replaced then of course the team is going to perform poorly. It sounds bad on the one hand but I think most teams in the league would be the same: take away their two main goal scorers and they will struggle. I don't disagree that Rodgers needed to adequately replace Suarez and he didn't, no arguing there. But since we didn't and all we've got is Mario I'm not sure why people are so surprised we're not playing well. It's not an excuse, it's just reality.
ReplyDeleteCavani- probably money
ReplyDeleteSanchez- we all know
Falcao- $$$$$$$$$$$$
The problem is we're not just missing one player, we're missing the whole SAS. At the risk of going back over old ground, Suarez and Sturridge scored 52 goals last season, Suarez scoring 31 of them. Balotelli, Borini and Lambert couldn't come close to that and we know it.
ReplyDeleteRodgers should have tried harder to sign 2 top-class strikers during the summer to replace Suarez, he had the funds.
To have a Man City-like problem of how to keep 4 quality strikers happy is better than having to put up with a sicknote, a maverick and two benchwarmers.
Of Rodgers signings only Can Manquillo and Moreno look worthwhile you can throw the rest away a lot of people were saying this before the season started we need top class.
ReplyDeleteThis over priced middle of the road attitude to transfers has dragged this club down for long enough.
But the question is, are they really even carrying the piano? I don't know. That game against Newcastle resembled a grand piano being smashed into the ground from the top of Empire State Building to me...
ReplyDeleteTo be fair Can Manquillo and Moreno look good value for money J.K but i will admit they are not stars yet.
ReplyDeleteTrue, they keep feckin dropping it, it's got chips on it and it's totally out of tune. I think in a way Suarez and Sturridge masked many of the issues the team had last season. I don't really think Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Lallana, Sterling and Coutinho are playing that much worse that last year. Sterling is a bit off form but otherwise I definitely remember our midfield always being a bit questionable.
ReplyDeleteWorld class is the stupidest label in sport there is no real level as to say who or what is world class.
ReplyDeleteI put it this way your list are just plain bloody champions.
This is where I really question Rodgers' judgement in the transfer market. We know that we need a holding mid that can do the job. Alex Song was pleading to come to us. I know that because he ended up at farkin West Ham. Put Alex Song in, and our midfield suddenly had a lot more strength to counter against the problem of being over-run. Additionally, it offers a lot more protection to the back 4, because Gerrard is basically useless at that. Henderson started this season well, but for me he's dropped off a bit. Allen was shite against Chelsea. Gerrard's around the same, just scoring no penalties. Sterling was played a lot more centrally during our great run last season, and as a result played better.
ReplyDeleteListen my friend, Cavani is a myth, if we told Sanchez listen after we buy you were going to buy Pogba and Sissokho from Newcastle to be the midfield trio along with Emre Can and a front 3 of him Sturridge and Sterling and make him our highest paid player on £200K a week(at arsenal he gets £135K, we offered £150K and more to barcelona) he would have joined. Suarez was on 220k a week before he left, if we gave Sanchez the same i guarentee you he would be in Liverpool red. money talks and its the reason PSG have so many top players despite basically starting from scratch. if we gave Sanchez the same wages as Suarez we would have 8goals/2 assists in 10 PL games. 12 goals/3 assists from 18 games in all competitions. our highest scorer is sterling on 3 goals/3 assists in 16 games. and im sorry but that is poor. if we signed either Hulk, Higuain, Martinez or Yarmolenko along with the signing of Sanchez, there will be goals, we would be in a better position and our investment would be justified. instead we spent £125M and have only got 5 goals/0 assists from it which is terrible. we are better of tempting Robben to Liverpool giving him £250k a week for £60M, guarenteeing world class results. the word wasted was justified after BRs summer.
ReplyDeleteHe obviously still strongly believes in Gerrard as a midfielder. Who knows what his justification/logic is because Gerrard certainly has his faults and isn't the player he used to be. But if Rodgers sees them in training every week and no one else is matching Gerrard in what is being asked then I suspect it's hard for Rodgers to pick anyone else. I would guess that he didn't go for a defensive mid because Can is the player there for the future and in the meantime we've got Gerrard and Lucas for cover. I reckon as the season goes on we'll see a lot more out of Emre Can and he'll justify his transfer. In Rodgers mind maybe Song would have been a waste of money and he's already got the players he wants in those roles, or he's got his eye on a better class of player to replace Stevie G. And does Song really help set us up offensively based on the style of football we play? We'll never know.
ReplyDeleteCavani's agent confirmed that Liverpool made an approach. How is that a myth? And are you paying for all that our of your own pocket then? We're under investigation for FFP in case you missed it. Liverpool don't throw obscene money at players to convince them to come here. The club can't run at a permanent financial loss. I agree - if we had gotten Sanchez then everything would have been much better. He was our main target. But we didn't get him, did we? You can't guarantee anything, it's all just hypothetical. We tried to sign the players - they didn't come. That's guaranteed, because it's reality.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he could. He played in a kind of similar system at Arsenal and thrived. I'd much rather have him than Lucas. Can will probably end up a great player, but I don't like how Rodgers' modus operandi of a permanent DM solution is potentially a couple of seasons away. We needed an instant injection of valuable contribution IMO. Top 4 is imperative.
ReplyDeleteI heard good definition of world class phrase- top 10 in his position, worldwide.
ReplyDelete60 million for Robben he is 31 next year.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad definition actually now to get everyone to agree.
ReplyDeletethanks
ReplyDeleteNew Anfiels pland PUT ON HOLD - J Henry finally figured it out - we wont be in Europe and we wont fill the Stadium - FANS WONT PAY £55 TOP WATCH CRAP
ReplyDeleteThe day B R signed SUPER MARIO is Liverpool career was OVER
ReplyDeleteLudicrous isn't it, that we are relying on the return of one notoriously injury-prone player to rescue Liverpool's season, having spent so much to improve the squad during the summer? If nothing else it does serve to again highlight the one glaringly obvious failure of that transfer window, which could ultimately end up costing Rodgers his job.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen one news article stating that this is the case, please provide some evidence to this effect
ReplyDeleteI do not care how well Gerrard performs in training, it is how he performs on the pitch that matters and so far this season he has been woeful
ReplyDeleteKept Agger.. I stopped reading right there because you have no clue.
ReplyDeleteAgger has admitted that he is simply unable to cope with the demands of Premier League football.
What's next for Sturridge? A pulled muscle in his penis because of too much time off?
ReplyDeleteExactly. It should just be the ability or performances of a player relative to everyone else. So, player x is the best/one of the best in the world. JK has an interesting take on it but he keeps plugging his definition at every chance. We have read it over 9000 times!
ReplyDeleteSo much for this. Sturridge got injured again. Unbelievable man!! Un-freaking believable.
ReplyDeleteYes we do Pete it pays to ignore J.Ks wording on certain issues i am numb from some of it.
ReplyDeleteBR got this one covered, oh sorry he's thrown over £100 mill down the drain with no contingency plan post Saurez. So whilst Sturridge has me tearing my hair out my real frustration is with the David Brent of football, Brendan Rogers who had set this club back another 3-5 years with his poor transfers.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a long a season...
ReplyDeleteExcellent point! I've been asking the same question about Alex Song. We could have got him on loan this season. Our midfield is still too slow & lightweight to cope with physical & counterattacking teams. This has been the case for years.
ReplyDeleteIts BR's fault. Its his fault. Players like Skrtel, Lovern and Sakho are absolute beasts in the national teams but they are like my sunday boozers' team when playing for Liverpool. BR gets his tactics wrong especially from the defensive mid
ReplyDeleteWe wouldnt have to run in that position of "permanent financial loss" if we sign 2/3 world beaters for 20-40m instead of buying poor players veneered as "depth"
ReplyDeleteI see no point in BR seeing SG's CDM skills "in training" but failing to display them in the games, and yet BR persists with playing SG in that role. Then there are people like Suso whose skills are not seen "in training" by BR yet in the matches that he is given he just shows them to the whole world
ReplyDeleteWell he moved us forward 3 to 5 years last season so...
ReplyDeleteLikewise with Sterling.
ReplyDeleteAre you seriously suggesting that the more superlatives you add in front of 'World Class', the more downgraded the 'World Class' title becomes??? Sure why not just say 'Mildly World Class', we might be able to throw a few Liverpool players under THAT title, eh?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you mate and there are some some fans who shamelessly keep on defending BR, when he is destroying the club
ReplyDeleteAnd I also feel that tactically BR is very poor.He stubbornly plays with the same formation that doesn't work and also makes individuals play out of their preferred position(and i wonder why).
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt he can still get descent results with the players he has at his disposal but if he's humble enough to change the formation and noble enough to put players at their preferred postions(EVERONE IS NOT CRISTIANO RONALDO)
I SAY WE CAN WIN THIS WEEKEND IF ONLY ROGERS PLAYS TO THE TEAMS STRENGHT LIKE A 442 DIAMOND SO MARIO HAS A PARTNER EVEN IF THE PARTNER DOES NOT SCORE HE WILL CREAT SPACE AND RUN INTO THE CHANNELS,ROTATE GERARD FROM TIME TO TIME MEANING FROM DM TO NO 10 AND GET STEVE CLARKE IN TO SORT THE DEFENSE.
ReplyDeleteBR gets all the blame for this year just as Suarez gets all the credit for last year.
ReplyDeleteSteve Clarke is favourite for the Leeds job. Can't see him coming back under BR even if we all shout loudly for it to happen
ReplyDeleteThe poll is redundant though
ReplyDeleteI still voted yes, and anyone who didn't is a coward.
ReplyDeletethey both have the potential to be but as yet are they worth the 18m shelled out on them
ReplyDeletebut when you have a Dm who is capable it means your other midfielders are more free to attack,it also relieves a lot of pressure on the defence
ReplyDelete6 weeks. What a f***ing sick note. I'd kind of understand if it happened during a game, but this guy has been injured for a combined 16 weeks or so, merely just from running around on the training ground. Un f***ing believable. I know he's a top level athlete being pushed hard, but come on, this is absurd. Apart from Diaby, no one else comes close to this.
ReplyDeleteThe longer Sturbridge is out the better player he will become in some peoples eyes, lfc cannot operate as a genuine contender for top 4 or trophies with one forward who is good at his job but cannot be relied upon to play on regular basis,we all heard the bull by Rogers on special training for Sturridge ,we'll something is clearly wrong with this programme isn't it,these appear to be non contact injuries and they are happening on a regular basis now either Sturridge feels he cannot perform unless completely problem free or this is always going to happen, guarantee that it's going to a special program to get him fit to get him to return to his other special program, why did we let Peter Buckner go ? .we could all see that borini wasn't up to it two years ago ,don't know what planet these people are on but if rumors are true then borini rates himself in the 90k pweek bracket, ballotelli ain't gonna change and start to look interested no matter how much we want it to happen ,and lambert ,we'll least said the better, shows how bad mighty England are if lambert is getting caps,Jesus Christ the future looks bleak doesn't it,
ReplyDeleteThe fact is Gil, they more than probably will be, more than i can say for the others.
ReplyDeletePlay Gerrard behind Balotelli. And Emer Can should play instead of rubbish Joe Allen
ReplyDeleteBring Gerrard back to attack
