Agent blasts: Play £15m LFC striker target or he'll seek 'other solutions'. Poach?

The Agent of Newcastle striker Demba Ba has hinted that the Senagalese is unhappy in the North East, and he's suggested that if things don't change, the prolific striker could leave the club.

Ba came off the bench on Monday night to rescue Newcastle with two superbly taken goals, and after the game, Alex Gontran - Ba's Agent fired a warning to Alan Pardew over his treatment of the striker. He said:

"Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations [in January], Demba doesn't understand the management. How could you put your best striker with full confidence on the left wing?

"There is a lack of recognition for Demba, and it is more difficult to play well when you don't have the confidence of your staff. If he continues to be a substitute all season, we'll look at other solutions".

It's easy to understand the frustration: prior to the arrival of Papiss Cisse, Ba hit 15 goals four months for Newcastle, but the striker then found himself shunted to the wing to accommodate his countryman in attack. After that, he scored only one more goal for the rest of the season.

Liverpool have been regularly linked with a move for £15m-rated Ba, who could've left St. James Park for 7m in the summer due to a clause in his contract.

If Ba's frustration continues, there will undoubtedly be a whole host of clubs lining up to sign him in January, and you'd hope that Liverpool would be in for him.

  1. 7 m seem be a good bargain but will he suit the style? and something is wrong with LFC goal scoring ability. seem more like a curse than a misfiring.

  5. Demba Ba does not pick the team, and if he reallty has a problem with the club i am sure he will get his wish to leave Newcastle in Jan but on their terms, not his.
I think you will find an apology coming soon from Ba who is really a nice guy, and after all this is his agent speaking who is a real cock!

  7. Demba Ba would not fit into the style of Rodgers, his goals come from long punts up the field and him then using lots of muscle to score

  8. according to news in Boston the owners are looking to sell the bottom of the leauge Red Sox and put the money into Liverpool before they end up like that too and next seasons derby is v Tranmere Rovers
According to a report from Charlie Gasparino of the Fox Business Network, Red Sox ownership have begun "quietly shopping" the franchise to potential buyers and are mulling the sale of the team.
Owning both Liverpool FC and the Red Sox has been the biggest challenge for John Henry and Fenway Sports Group and is the key reason they could be looking to sell, people with direct knowledge of the matter told Gasparino. By selling the Red Sox, Henry could potentially devote more resources to Liverpool, which was purchased by Fenway Sports for $476 million in 2010. Gasparino reports that people close to ownership feel that more attention is being paid to the future of the Liverpool franchise than to the last-place Red Sox.
The Red Sox denied any interest in selling the team. On Thursday, a spokesperson for the Sox said of “there is no truth to that rumor" of a potential sale. And Sox president/CEO Larry Lucchino was asked about the rumors -- prior to this report surfacing -- on the Dennis & Callahan Show on Thursday morning.
"Nonsense," Lucchino said of a potential sale. "As I said, they feel the same kind of competitive juices that the fans feel, that I feel. There's an opportunity here to put the team back on the track it was on for a decade. … There has not been one word, one word of discussion regarding that. We are committed, better or worse, we are the guys to kick around."

  11. Who cares? he scores goals for fun. He can fail to score in sex for all I care. Just score goals. A striker is paid to do just that. Score goals.

  12. My point being. Isn't a bit risky taking a punt on a player who could potentially end up spending more time in med room. Than on the pitch. Weve wasted enough money on players like that in the past.

  13. yes and he is a greedy b too, his transer fee is low to compensate the wages he gets, he could feed half of Senegal for what he gets in a week

  14. This is football and footballers. Injury is unpredictable. It is all about taking chances.
Every single footballer is a potential liability to injury for the club. I guess that is why they are paid such obscene sums.

  15. How on Earth is Demba Ba only valued at £15million? Yes his scoring dried up the second half of last season but he still scored more league goals than Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez combined.

  16. not worth the money

  17. Which, is the sole purpose of a medical. Which, unlike other players who may or may not get serious injuries. Doctors have said his knees are a ticking time bomb. He failed jis at Stoke. Are you suggesting we should take that chance knowing what we know already?

  18. When this story first broke out by FOX BUSINESS John Henry denied allegations that the Red Sox where indeed for sale. Since then different media outlets have said reported the same thing stating that Henry will not sell the Red Sox. It is now a known fact and not mere speculation.

Granted the extra money made available by the sale of the Red sox would be great for Liverpool's coffers. The money alone will not help the club attract better class of players . That will be possible only if we get a top four finish or win more trophies. I don't really know the point of your comment.

  19. If he was really as good as some people suggest, I simply wonder why no club triggered his alleged 7m buy-out clause last summer. No club, zero, neither a domestic on, nor one on the continent. Makes me wonder...
