LFC fans tell FSG: *Sack* Dalglish now and bring back Benitez. Hypocrisy?

Former Reds manager Rafa Benitez still retains massive support amongst Liverpool fans, and with the club enduring its worst league season in years, many fans are actively calling for the much-loved Spaniard to be given a second chance at Anfield, and would happily accept Kenny Dalglish being *sacked* before the end of the season to see it happen.

Dalglish sacked before the end of the season? In my view, that's heresy, and as I've argued repeatedly this year, I never want to see one of the Liverpool's greatest servants suffer the ignominy of being sacked.

I am, admittedly, a critic of Dalglish, and I admit that I would like to see him step down/move upstairs at the end of the season; but sacking? Never, but not everyone takes that view though.

I recently hypothesized that many fans would happily see Dalglish sacked if it meant an immediate Benitez return, and to prove this point, I posed the following question in a survey conducted on this on this site last week:

If there was an option to sack Dalglish with immediate effect and replace him with Benitez, would you support that change?

The result was exactly as I predicted:

* Almost 4000 fans voted.

* 70% voted in favour of Dalglish being sacked before the end of the season to make way for Benitez.

As you can see, the majority of voting fans would be only too happy to see Dalglish's legacy irreperably tarnished to accommodate a Benitez return. These very same fans then had the gall to attack me for suggesting the Luis Suarez should be sacked for public stating his intention to CHEAT for Liverpool (!)

The hypocrisy really is hilarious (and tragic at the same time)

What the results of the survey categorically show (once again), is that many Liverpool fans prioritise the individual over the club.

* Sacking Dalglish - one of the club's greatest players - before the end of a season would be damaging for the reputation of LFC; it would be like sticking knife into the heart of everything LFC stands for, yet fans want that to happen (!)

* Luis Suarez, however, publicly admitted that he will happily cheat for Liverpool, which also damages the reputation of the club, but fans are falling over themselves to defend him, and justify his right to cheat!

The mind boggles.

If you want to see the reason modern football is in the moral and ethical gutter, just read through the comments on the following post.

Forget Dalglish - FSG should sack Suarez for this shocking statement.

Truly disturbing.

  1. well if I look at the signifance all 3  players  have contributed to getting to the semi. Then I would say on average it was minimal.

  2. I think that's pretty much spot on, Pro-.

The way Rafa was continually undermined by the press and his employers was not nice. I'd love to see what he could achieve in a stable environment, and with a bit of backing (loyalty from his employers as well as funds). And with a club he loves and 'understands'.

The trouble is we're in a Catch-22, because I think Kenny deserves at least one more season (cue: "apologist", "deluded" posts). The ideal scenario would be for Kenny to ask Rafa in some sort of advisory capacity (a bit like Paisley did for him in his initial year), which I can't see happening. Then Rafa could ease back in as and when they saw fit.

Kenny may say he's thoroughly sick of some of the shit he's had to put up with from the media and "fans", and move back upstairs on health-grounds, but I think he probably wants another crack to rectify the mistakes made this season. Nobody should ever doubt the hunger and desire to win of the man, or his love for the Club, regardless of your opinions on how he "handled" certain situations. And I don't believe he is stubbornly sticking by certain players, just showing faith in their ability and trying to instil confidence with his unwavering support. I wish MY boss did that!!

The only other thing is for FSG to grasp the nettle and say they are not happy, and coerce Kenny into a move. But then, would THEY want Rafa?......

The other point is, we are all assuming Rafa would WANT to come back. What if he was offered, say, the Spurs job?

  3. i don't follow. why is it hypocritical? also, you state that fans prioritise the individual above the club. that is exactly what you are arguing for when you state that dalglish shouldn't be sacked because it would tarnish his reputation. so for the sake of dalglish's reputation you'd happily see lfc slip further down the league and not sack him? you're the one being hypocritical.

personally i think kenny should be given more time, but if he doesn't buy in the right areas, and of decent quality i would have no problem with him being sacked by next january. sentimentality should only go so far....

  4. I disagree. How can you say that after  just over a year. People said Carol was a mistake in January. Stupidity would of  made you you sell him then. Who would of  bought him for 15 mil. Plus Newcastle  have a percentage of the sale. Fact is in 5 years time Carol will be the complete goal scorer. Not good bizness to sell. Actually just stupidity.
Henderson is improving game by game. Downing is getting in better deliverly. Ok the prices are high but they  will come good. And bear in mind weare paying on average 70k a wk for them  not 170 k that Torress is on. All add up on a  5 year contract.

  5. Owh not again. Please stop comparing city with us. They are not a big team. I rather make a comparison with the likes of Real Madrid, Barca, Man U, AC that playing champions league football every season.

  6. Lets be fair mate. you made some points. I don`t want rafa back at this point but you cant really judge him on one poor season  at liverpool. How many players did inter lose or sell from that team? Was the funds  given to rafa to buy? rafa has his weaknessess and also his strengths. made alot of mistakes but gave us a good run.

  7. He did explain that one the other day.

It was something to do with one of the better-known Philadelphia soul groups of the 1970's. I seem to remember they had a hit with "You make me feel Brand New".

  8. Whoever they are i'm pretty sure that they must be better player than Carroll, Adam, Henderson, Downing.

  9. Quite a few ex Liverpool lads in the semi's... You can add Arbeloa to Rafa's list but we shouldn't forget Miereles is there too.

  10. rafa is a world class manager my friend. any manager is who can take a team to two european cup finals in 3 years and make a club  rank or seeded number one in europe for a good period of time.title or no title.

  12. well 2nd place is better than third.

  13. I'd have to agree with that, Original. Rafa would naturally want to make alterations to personnel, which again would lead to a period of instability while the team gels. This site proves that we don't have the patience for that.
I'd prefer to wait and see what happens next season, and believe that the disappointments of this season will help the younger players mature.
I think this season has been a big learning curve for the players, and indeed for the Manager.

In the end, though, it's all down to FSG. They're the ones pulling the strings.

  17. Stats and lies! How many of the 4000 who voted actually go to the games. Once again we are being expected to believe that the views expressed by the internet fans represent the general views of the Liverpool fans. I know literally hundreds of match going Liverpool fans and I haven't met one yet who wants Rafa back in for Kenny.

  18. erin superb reply ! Spot on. Rafa was superb in transfer market and people wanted to play for him he attracts worlds best talent. He is respected in europe unlike here in the UK where the media have a xenophobic agenda

  20. Bollox - Alonso's penultimate season was poor for his standards becuase Rafa kept dropping him. He kept dropping him because Rafa took umbridge at Alonso not wanting to travel to a preliminary away game because his wife was due to give birth. Alonso v Barry - hahahahahahahahahaha, no contest. Barry isnt good enough to lace Alonso's boots.

  21. If you want a manager that rouses passion and demands you put your life on the line for the shirt, KK your man. If you want a master tactician, a manager that rouses passion and demands you put your life on the line for the shirt, Rafa's your man.
I said it before.. We should never hang Kenny out in public, he's been nothing short than outstanding for our club, we need to remember YNWA. But I'm afraid footy's moved on, spirit and passion will still win footy matches but if we want to rule the EPL and Europe, we need a member of the new breed manager.
Rafa has LFC in his heart and with the right backing I believe he can restore us to where we belong. One of the things I remember from his previous (I hope he has another opportunity) reign was the Zabi Alonso situation. He wanted Zabi to attend an up and coming Champions League game (remember those) and miss the birth of his daughter. He said he'd only ask players to do what he do for the club, put nothing before it. Also I know (believe :)) he was one of the few managers we've had that old rednose over at the 'theatre of sh*t' was scared of... Says a lot about the man!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love both of them,KK and Rafa as such I will give KK a chance ONLY to see what he will deal with Hendersen,Carrol and Downing this summer.Am sure KK will loan these trio out to mature the Liverpool way and then buys some good strikers.
If NOT then I think Rafa should be appointed back.
Hendersen,Downing and Carrol are NOT CL materials. We should be buying CL materialed players

  23. I am not saying that Rafa is a bad manager, and i would like to see him manage Liverpool again, but KD can also have a bad season, can't he?Rafa's first season wasn' t good enough as well, wee finished behind Everton. So, give KD another year to work and after that we can talk about replacing him.

  25. i do like it when you base your hypothesis, beliefs, opinions, results on your polls... because im sure your 4000 LFC reader base is consistent with the millions of world wide LFC supporters...  all this tells me is that the judgements and decisions you make are based on a distorted value.  but thats ok, it gives me a chuckle for the rest of the day...

benitez is a cancer and should never be allowed to step into anfield again as a member of the staff. sack kenny because he is not performing, but don't link benitez to the job because he is just rubbish. you are only as good as your last performance and for benitez, his last 2 performances at liverpool and inter milan were purely garbage. at least kenny supports and defends his players (a little blindly, but nevertheless that's a positive); benitez doesn't do that and is a poor leader.

  29. Oh JK, sorry to say but your writing is starting to make me feel like im reading a New Ltd paper... I think you should stop writing "suarez would happily cheat for LFC".  I somehow recall him saying the word "SACRIFICE..." There is a difference you know... but im sure you already know that, and wont want to admit it either... which brings me back to my first point, I guess you do work for the Murdoch Clan...  to prove me otherwise, you would not use the sentence "happily cheat" anymore...

Remember, Rafa's last couple of season's were played out with the backdrop of messers hicks and gillette. It was remarkable that Beneitez got Liverpool to second in the league considering the awful regime he was working under. It was inevitable that the club was going to falter as the real depth of mismanagement was uncovered in the press. I think Benitez would fair better under FSG. However, he was still an overly cautious manager with a defensive style of play that was mind numbingly boring to watch at times. He made many good signings, mostly earlier in his career, Torres will be remembered as a legend in years to come.
Dalglish is struggling right now, but remember the poor start Benitez had, finishing outside the top for, only getting back into the CL due to a change in the rules by UEFA. A very embarrassing departure from the FA cup courtesy of Toure own goal at Burnley (the worst player ever to win a CL medal).
Dalglish has made a lot of mistakes this year, he needs to learn to trust the press and build a good relationship with them rather than always assume that they are they enemy. Management is different to what it was twenty years ago. He is a warm and witty man, yet that part of him disappears behind a defensive wall when interviewed. His recruitments are new, they've all played well for other clubs so they have the potential to play well for us. Good man management will determine whether that happens or not. Charlie Adams was his worst signing and hopefully he'll move on in a season or two when Lucas returns and Shelvey, Spearing and Suso become first team regulars. Dalglish has got a fantastic youth team to plunder. His measure as a quality manager will be whether he can merge the young talent with what is there already.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Re: Johnson and Aquilani. Always an excuse eh.

Rafa didn't seem so negative when we signed them and was in fact, quite positive about them. Didn't see any sign of a gun to his head.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You know your football mate... it's refreshing

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think that KD is doing so badly, that fans are desperate to get rid of him and so leaning towards Benitez as the lesser of the two evils.

I'd prefer Benitez over KD any day of the week - but only because i want Kenny out at any cost.

Overall I think there is better out there than both of them.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes I know the pledge.. but I think they mean LFC way. NOT Rafa's way. You are blinkered in your outlook.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  41. Suarez had better try and keep the ball out with his hand faced with an identical situation or his captain, his manager and the Club's owners will want to know what the hell he was doing watching the ball in to the net

    ReplyDelete
  42. Rafa for Liverpool i will be happy to see him back he did a good job with very little support from upstairs Kenny should resign and find a roll in the club

    ReplyDelete
  43. i can see dalglish going at the end of the season. i think fsg have given dalglish the chance to win the fa cup before finding someone who can take the club forward

    ReplyDelete
  44. He is also a legend for his incredible ability to destroy a treble winning Inter Milan in a year. Definite a record to be proud of. Please don't mention about him being a fine gentleman cos at the end of the day it's the result that matters. Many Liverpool fans will also agree that Kenny is a fine gentleman. So to bring up the point as one of the factors for getting Rafa back is simply hypocrisy. For me I would not want Rafa back cos I do not wish to see Liverpool back to playing boring, sleep inducing football.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Defensive football that is

    ReplyDelete
  46. Its the quality of the players. Its like buying cheap material players. Downing Henderson and even Carroll

    ReplyDelete
  47. So poor Alonso was that he made himself to be one of the indispensable player in the Real Madrid set up. I'll take Alonso over Barry anytime. Please don't let a night at Istanbul cloud a lifetime of judgement. Rafa is not the man to take Liverpool forward.

    ReplyDelete
  48. A manager will make investment in new players to improve the team and it is evident enough that mourinho purchase has add value to the teams strength by winning a treble. So why would Benitez be given a huge amount of funds just to buy more players when the team is already a great team? The endless list of valid reasons can be staring right in front of you but you would stubbornly ignore it cos you are what you have called yourself a pro Rafa. Hence your views are always laced with biasness. So hardly any objectivity in your reasoning.

  51. Time to start afresh!!

Why are so many people here frightened of change but, strangely, not frightened of seeing the club plummet down the league?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Football doesn't wok that way ! Bring in Mourinho and give him sufficient money to buy key players. The team needs overhaul to start with from REina.

    ReplyDelete
  53. typical whining crap as the majority have a different opinion to yourself!!!
As individuals we cannot all have the same morals and stand on such high ground!!we like who we like and dislike who we dislike!!!Simple.
I love Suarez and if he scored a hand of God goal in FA cup final I would cheer to the roof tops!!!Chelsea scum get what they deserve.
Hypocrisy? Articles I have read that you are massive fan of Robbie 'GOD' Fowler( My idol and hero growing up) I might add but did bring negative and much not needed press with snorting celebration years ago!!!!! Still banged in 20 goals a season though year after year!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jammy Kanwah- Suarez said he would do it again, big deal. When he first did it I said I want people like him on my team. It's a foul and it's punishable, no different than saying Id bring down the last man if through to goal.
As for Benitez, he was brilliant at Inter!!!
No one has offered him a job since, he's a nutter who would fight with himself if no one was around to fight with.
Boring football, pathetic subbing and so ideally prepared that if it wasn't for a younger, healthier Gerrard he'd of been nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Morally speaking, I'm very surprised that you haven't yet changed your headline from "Liverpool Fans" to "Web Respondents"

As I said before, we both know that you have no way of knowing how many of your 4000 respondents were "Liverpool Fans" so you can't honestly make that claim.

You should take a minute and think about how what you're doing squares    with you conscience and your views on Suarez.

    ReplyDelete
  56. First of all, I think any Liverpool player would've done what Suarez did in the last minute of extra time against Ghana, so I think there's no reason why anyone should think anything like that would be doing any damage to the club's reputation.

Speaking of Benitez. Every Liverpool supporter should remember that Rafa won games against most of the top European clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter, Juventus. Not many managers can achieve that.

Rafa had a great record against Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal in his last three seasons. I agree he had some bad signings but he also wanted to sign top players and he wasn't given any money for it. Remember Tottenham asked "only" 15 million pounds for Bale and Hicks and Gillet didn't want to hear about it? Now Bale is worth 30. I think it would be diferent now with FSG.

    ReplyDelete
  57. there is a bit of a generation fight here. people in their 30's will stick with KD and people in thier early 20's will go for benitez. I am fortunate to be old enough to remember KD the player and manager and i will always give him the benefit of the doubt. Rafa has also been an excellent servant to the club but at the min i will back KD as he is still in the post. KD although needs better league form, he has produced a fair first season and got us a trophy and another final. I would give him another year but if benitez did come back i would not be against it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Its not as if we have a terrible record against big sides in PL in recent times do we since he left. Its the small clubs that we have ballsed up against in recent times and you know what, it was the same under Rafa most of the time. He didn't do away with the mentality that has rotted our side for years, when it comes to the half-hearted mediocre performance we show against 'lesser sides'.

Fair dos, he had a really good record against big sides and its a great buzz winning against those teams as that is one of big things about playing in the best club competition, the CL but it isn't all about the big sides.

We have this reputation for being a side that turns up in the cups and against big sides, which is fine if we were a small club. Its not the be all and end all, for a club of our stature.

    ReplyDelete
  59. i have nothing against benitez or kenny..but they aren't gutted enough to go out and attack opposition team enough..my personal choice is Paul lambert..look what he has done with Norwich..every time they play, you can see the players giving their 100% effort..and that is the kind of mentality liverpool players need..so my first choice is Paul lambert and second is Harry redknap who is doing similar job at spurs

    ReplyDelete
  60. The Inter club president has since admitted he was wrong to get rid of Benitez so early. Taking over of a squad full of players close to retirement who had literally just won everything was always going to be a tough task the team needed rebuilding. How have Inter got on since Benitez? Not exactly setting the world alight. As for the sleep inducing football, i seem to recall his Liverpool side outscoring a Utd team which had Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, etc in the year we finished 2nd. Benitez had built a great squad that was getting better until the owners stopped investing. I think Kenny should be given more time but I it annoys me how much Benitez is underrated, great manager and I'd happy i'd have him back someday.

Why must we always look backwards ? Why ?

this yearning for the past will be the death of this club  - we need to think forward and plan for the future , build a new dynasty shaped by a modern thinking young manager with a clean slate  - please, no more sentimental hirings to appease the fanbase  -

We are not NUFC  - we already tried our very own 'king kev' and cup success aside its not went too well in the league and the transfer market has it .

LFC is a massive club , we dont need to cling onto the past , we can create our own glorious future .

Well you must be reading something different from what I am writing because I don't want Kenny out at all. It's a hard fact for some of you to get but just because I love and admire Benitez, doesn't mean I don't love Dalglish just as much, even more! I am new to this website and wouldn't even consider getting rid of Dalglish at all

I am not calling for Dalglish to be sacked. I never have and never will. It would be wrong. You are seeing things that isn't there I am afriad. I have faith in Kenny and I believe in him. I didn't vote in the quiz but even if I did, I would have voted to keep Dalglish despite my affection for Rafa because Dalglish is the right man and can lead us back to where we once were. I'm sorry if I am not insulting Rafa whilst I'm saying good things about Dalglish. I like to think as a fan, we treat all our former managers, no less those that brought old big ears back to us.

If anything, you are disrespectful for putting a time frame on it. I want Dalglish to have as long as he wants and to progress and to win trophies, not to give him a probation period of a further year as you propose

  79. Pro_Benitez_Cult1:11 am, April 20, 2012

Kenny will, needs and deserves to stay for a period of time. He has a project and if he thinks he can carry it through he will. On the flip side, if he thinks it won't work, Kenny will walk away. If rafa is the man to replace him, so be it. I'd love it and think he will be magical. If not, the next manager would get the same support I had for Kenny and Rafa and I would hope he reaches there level. In the mean time, I will always love and admire Rafa where ever he is because, being 23, he really played a big part in forming key moments of my youth. I will never forget the Benitez years. But Kenny is king for the moment and like Rafa, we will ensure he never walks alone

  80. where is the rebuilding when we are having relegation form since new year? i can bet my life..we wont finish top next season as well mark my words, unless FSG decided to give kenny 100-200 m ( i still doubt he will still finish top 4)....which they wont after witnessing the most horrible transfers we ever had in out history.

    ReplyDelete
  81. the fact is we are out of champion league .....Rafa made this....accept it, kenny try to build back a team for our premier league....

    ReplyDelete
  82. How do you know 4 of the player you mention is Bad?

carroll at that time, you can rate him as top striker....adam- the keyman for blackpool ...henderson - best young player...downing - best aston villa player of the year......

then what about luis suarez? enrique? bellamy? doni? plus alot more of youngster?

no matter who we get, when the player is not performing, then you will blame the manager. simple as that..

    ReplyDelete
  83. You can say anybody that wish kenny to be sack immediately is not a liverpool fans as well.... Isn't liverpool famous for the fans who stand by the manager and the player no matter what happen?

    ReplyDelete
  84. I agree that Hicks and Gillett were bad owners. But when Rafa had the funds, he did not buy wisely. It took him many buys to hit some jackpots akin to a striker who needs 50 chances to score 1 goal. The mother of all blunders was the Aquilani buy.

At Inter, he took over a Champ League side, a side that was doing well under Mancini and the team wasn't dismantled overnight. Yet they went on a losing streak. When he took over from Houllier, he won the Champ League for Liverpool with Houllier's team.

And Rafa had the chance to mould a Rafa's team. We were just a nearly team thereafter. Good managers like Wenger build teams that do not fall apart overnight even with tight budgets.

So, Rafa had his chance and now its time to move on to another manager who can deliver. We can find all excuses to bring back Rafa, but if we don't open ourselves to other managers, we could find ourselves continuing to be a nearly team.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I am a big fan of Rafa but must say what has mostly cost this team is poor finishing and no manager can put the ball in the back of the net.
Sure i would not mind seeing Rafa back but they must draw the line line with sacking managers i say give Kenny next season and then we will see.
I do think Jamie one question u may ask too is who would support the club making big changes regardless and many would support that too.
This summer the changes made in personnel must be taken from Kennies hands, his job should be to tell what he wants identifying that needs to be left to someone else.

  86. you dont understand football,i lost patience with dalglish this season, one thing is beeing legend and other is to be a manager. With rafa i believed we can win every game ,with dalglish i dont even believe in draw.

    ReplyDelete
  87. You are missing my point. What I am trying to say is that, Aquilani was better value for money, and a better midfielder than Henderson, Adam and Spearing. Yet we let him go? He never had a chance, when did I say he is legendary? He may not be legendary, but I know when I spot a good player that is above average ones. You say Aquilani was a bugger cuz he was injured? He had an ankle injury, but he never got the same chance that Alonso got. I hope you remember he had one bad season once, and a bad ankle injury as well when he first started.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yep, Xabi had his issues and worked out to be great in the long run but sorry, who cares. Tough that Aquilani didn't get the same time. We can only judge from what we saw, not ifs and maybes. From what we saw, was  too little a period to conclusively illustrate he was such a good player

We spent too much on Hendo and was over-hyped by the media last season but we spent £18m on a Italian player (there aren't many Serie A players who have big success in PL in recent times) who had a long history of injuries and arrived injured. So not sure on who was better value, as neither were good value for the money they were bought.

I watched Roma a fair bit (probably the best attacking Italian side in the 00s, under Spalletti with Totti as the false nine, along with Milan). Aquilani looked solid, yes (when fit!!!!) and yes, he had been playing first team football longer than Hendo but its a totally different league.

I didn't say you  said legendary. I was sensationalising this strange reputation Aquilani has with quite a few peoople, despite playing so little.

I said and meant 'bugger all', not just 'bugger' as the latter word used alone is a rather distasteful phrase! ;)

  89. Bring back Rafa, why? There was a reason he got the boot, he lost the dressing room, he was said to be overbearing and controlling leading to Liverpool football suffering immeasurably as a result. Safety first, where all reason pointed to the fact that teams with a longevity of success played attack minded football. He bought with abandon and constantly used injury to justify poor results even with a huge squad at his disposal. He pissed all over Alonso and eventually drove him out of the club for what seemed to have been no good reason. Barry as a preferred replacement-was he barmy. Aquillani, still has the record for the 100m freestyle(and maybe butterfly) swimming at the club?! If he had of stayed i think Hargreaves would have been the next signing. People would say but he led Liverpool to the European glory, fairplay to the man, great job, and great job by Liverpool players of that year with some exceptional individual performances. But do we really want to go backwards. Yes our league form is bad to say the least, but it's still year one, and we're into our second final, hold out on judgement till the second year. Then you can justifiably say time has been given. No point taking the Roman Abramovich mentality to management

    ReplyDelete
  90. Ok then, he was trying to be ironic, but can't tell the difference between it and sarcasm.

  91. jamie how old are you ,before souness came along it wasnt the liverool way to go around sacking people willy nilly.we all know were souness went wrong, and evans wasnt manager material ,houllier had a good go but wernt playing the kind of football this club was renound for,as for rafa great manager great person was very unfortiute to be manager when them other 2 clowns turned up ,if rafa had proper backing and i dont mean having to sell to buy im sure he would have been more sucsesfull, i would have rafa back when kenny decides to  steps down in many years to come  hopfully,  liverpool as i said jamie never used to and shouldnt be a club that goes around sacking managers ie especialy when youve won 1 cup and are in the final of another.ps jamie why all this negative crap about kk ,whats redknap won at spurs nothing and look at the money he; spent . jamie personly i dont think you are a real liverpool fan your just like these manc based journalist allways stiring unjustified shit up

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yep, no manager can put the ball in the back of the net but the manager can use £35m on a more established and proven striker to finish off those chances, instead of a player who only has half-a-season as a first XI player in a top tier league before joining us.

    ReplyDelete
  93. as one chap said if you done a poll outside anfield more than 80% are happy for kk to stay .when you do online polls thay do not reflect what  the true fans want the majority are proberly rival fans like yourself jamie

    ReplyDelete
  94. weres my other post jamie is the thruth beknown

    ReplyDelete
  95. as i said jamie if you were a true fan you wouldnt be bruweing all this rubbish up ,sack suarez dont make me laugh,i didnt see fergie sacking cantonas kung foo kick   or keen for finishing a players career .so why all this shit about suarez .come on jamie who do do you really support

    ReplyDelete
  96. who cares about what Manure do. On one hand we try to take the mick out of them and think they are beneath us and now on the other hand, we use them as some sort of standard as to whether to sack players or not. Weird that.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Fair comment....though I wasn't trying to imply you personally saying KD out RB in though there are some who seem to be saying that.....

    ReplyDelete
  98. What the club needs is time, consistency and patience...otherwise we will end up doing what Chavski (Chelsea) do nearly every season no so long ago Newcastle changing managers/ coaches every season.....In the 1st team squad roughly 1/3 of players are new to the club, 1/3 are youth and the other 1/3 are players who have been there for some time and have established themselves...now that last 1/3 most of whom have been injured or been on bans or showed loss of form....Remember it took Tagget (SAF) 6 seasons before he won a title/ cup....KD has already won 1 trophy and in the final of another in less than 18 months....league form along with confidence will improve....you can not expect instant success not when other teams are also trying to achieve the same or similar aims.....keep the faith....

    ReplyDelete
  99. All LFC need is a right winger and a striker who is a fox in the box type to get you 20 to 30 goals....the creativity is there and has been evident....hitting the woodwork more than other team in the PL....

  100. name me a manager who; s had 100% success in the transfer market. impossible chan

    ReplyDelete
  101. chan the point im getting with fergi and his club is if one of them had said what saurez said do you think one of there fans would make a big fuss about it in the way jamie has ,dont think so

    ReplyDelete
  102. and my point was why on earth should we care about what they would do. Like I said/implied, one on hand we criticise them and on the other, we want to look at them as a way of try to handle situations like this? Pffft.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Damo - Even though you are not him/her, I will take your word for it(!)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Not sure which one of my comments your comment is supposed to relate to but its pointless as none of comments say that I expect/ed 100% success rate in the transfer market from the manager as its not something I would say.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Wasnt the case when they won it was it?? The fact is that when we won it any club in the country would have swapped places with us.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Yes thats true, Its like people would rather be proven right and Kenny fail, than be proven wrong and Kenny bring consistent success.

And they are naive and wrong to say it. I didn't see Jaimie's poll but if I had, I would have voted against sacking Kenny. Not just because of footballing reasons i.e. getting rid of a manager midway through a season  does more harm than good but because it's Kenny and he is a legend who has given this club so much. He deserves every chance to see his project come to fruition. Maybe it's my name that is decieiving but just because I admire and respect Rafa and think he was a great Liverpool manager and would like to see him back in the future, it doesn't translate as either wanting Kenny sacked or Kenny to make way for Rafa.

    ReplyDelete
  108. KD definitely needs more time in charge otherwise we are in danger of becoming like Chavski (Chelsea) changing managers/ coaches every season or Newcastle in the past.  We will get better and will improve....

    ReplyDelete
  109. Blimey, Erin. 53 Likes!!!
    Some sort of record, no?

And with a bit of backing (and nerve) from the board we could have had Alves, Simao, Silva, Bale and maybe even Figo.

Rafa was treated shabbily by the Club, and the media.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Yeah feared in Europe "boring football"..??? Unbelievable!! How can you ignore all those European nights you mong!! And by defending Rafa It doesn't mean I want King Kenny replaced  by him now..To do so would be a disrespect.. KK will bring us back with a couple titles, bit of money in the bank, Rafa home, dominate like we used to..

    ReplyDelete
  111. Er, NO, most other fans do not rate Benitez at all. In fact, none I have seen except Liverpool fans, which often seem to be more in love with him than the club itself, exhibiting severe symptoms of typical deluded cult characteristics.

Fact is, almost all fans of the big clubs except Liverpool lol@benitez. We don't feel the need to make excuses after excuse for his failures and see him for what he is. Seriously, this guy over-complicates football in the desperate attempt to look like some special tactician, but seriously, he can't even get the most out of his squad players. As is common knowledge, horrific man-management skills.

He's constant self-promotion in the media, how cringe-worthily desperate and embarrassing is that?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Money money money. It's always needing more investments with this guy isn't tho? And if he doesn't get it it's all the owners fault lol. Time after time after time. No wonder no decent club will touch him with a ten-foot pole now.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Still peddling the claim that  these were Liverpool fans I see.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Never a Liverpool fan6:47 am, April 23, 2012

Benitez won't want to come back to your shite club, especially after what he had done for you and how you ingrate bindippers ungraciously sacked him.

Shame on you for asking him to come back. Who the hell do you think you are?Good luck finishing top ten this season.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Rafa is not world class and is not fit to lick Kennys boots! What the fuck did Rafa do for our club, OK he won the European cup but with Holliers team, the rest of the time he bought crap players with the exception of a couple.... He had 5 years in charge and came nowhere near winning the league, the team will come good under Kenny.... 2 domestic cups this season = a bloody good season and will provide the foundations to push on for top 4 or better next season.... Now act like real fans, support your team and manager and stop getting involved with fucking media crap. YNWA

    ReplyDelete
  116. what an offensive and retarded article! it actually proves the opposite, that fans put the club before the individual... that we would rather the club have a fighting chance than Dalglish (the individual) have his job. Did you bother asking the 4000 how many would rather sack Dalglish and insert whoever their particular manager of choice is? it's not about Rafa, it's about Dalglish buying horrific players like Downing, Adam & Henderson and guiding the club to the worst league season in 50years. SACK him for the love of god!  I like Rafa but he wouldn't be my choice (Loew or Klopp)

    ReplyDelete
  117. and by the way, about Suarez n cheating... I fully agree with him! look at the world cup stats... who got further in South Africa? Ghana or Uruguay? that stat will show Uruguay got further for ever and ever... but HOW they did so? and Suarez part of that doesn't change that stat. I'd gleefully cheat a cup than honestly win naff-all.

    ReplyDelete
  118. i agree with that zulu

    ReplyDelete
  119. I would be happy with Rafael Benitez to come back to the club! Dalglish is a club legend but maybe he has just been out of the game as a manager for a bit too long? I dont know? I want to defend him but i cant with the money he has spent on mediocre players like Henderson and Downing! Just doesnt work that way.. Benitez only spent money on prolific players who perform game in game out! We need to bring in a higher calibre manager to bring in higher calibre players! Fact
