Deal Close? 'Extraordinary' £50m goal-machine chased by Liverpool confirms that he wants to sign for a CL team

Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, and the coveted striker has now revealed his conditions for leaving this summer.

Last week, a report on French radio station RMC claimed that Liverpool will try and sign Lacazette this summer, and when asked this week about leaving Lyon, the striker told reporters:

"[The team I will join] will have to be in the Champions League and play good football. Passing the ball, not just hitting it from box to box. Not kick and rush. That would not work for me.”

Liverpool play 'good football', and the club's philosophy is built on 'pass and move' football. Add Champions League qualification into the equation, and Lacazette will become an achievable transfer target. Recent transfer timeline:

* Mar 2017: The Mirror claimed: "[Liverpool] Reps have sounded out Lyon and made it clear the Reds admire Lacazette"

* Mar 2017: French journalist Julien Laurens insisted: "He [Lacazette] will go to Liverpool, Arsenal or Tottenham. You will have to pay £40m or £50m."

* Mar 2017: Sky Sports claimed that Lacazette had 'agreed to sign for Atletico Madrid next season'.

Lacazette is arguably perfect for Liverpool's system, and his formidable creative stats over the last four seasons show his enduring consistency:

* 132 goals/assists in 179 apps (One every 109 mins)

* 20+ goals every season for the last four years.

* This season: 35 goals/assists in 40 apps (One every 89 mins).

If Klopp can seal this deal then I'll finally be convinced of his alleged 'pull' in the transfer market.

* Hailed by Thierry Henry as 'extraordinary'
