Deal Agreed: Liverpool close to finally sealing transfer for 'unbelievable' £80k-a-week Brazilian

After months of speculation, it appears that Liverpool stalwart Lucas Leiva has finally agreed a deal to quit Anfield this summer.

Last week, reports in Turkey claimed that Lucas had held 'initial talks' with Galatasaray, and according to Turkish newspaper Fotomac today:

"After recent talks with Lucas Leiva has agreed a deal to sign for Galatasaray summer, but only on the proviso that he receives a €4m a year salary (€76k-a-week)".

If true, this news is no surprise as Lucas has been regularly linked with Galatasaray over the last year:

* Jul 2016: Fotomac claimed: "Galatasaray have reached an agreement for Lucas".

* Aug 2016: Galatasaray official Levent Nazifoglu revealed: "We've spoken personally with Lucas Leiva. He asked for one more day".

Jurgen Klopp reportedly vetoed the deal, and when asked in October about Galatasaray, Lucas noted:

“There were exit opportunities, but they ended up not happening".

Liverpool players past and present turned out in force this week to celebrate Lucas's 10-year anniversary at Anfield, and the 10-year milestone is a good time to call it a day.

That said, with 6 games to go, Galatasaray as currently 7 points off a Champions League place, and if Liverpool qualify, and the Turkish giants fail, Lucas may ultimately decide to stay for one more year.

Whenever he finally leaves, Lucas's exit will truly signal the end of an era, as he is the last remaining remnant of Rafa Benitez's reign at Anfield.
