Next Mane? Liverpool Reps fly out to watch 'brilliant' €8m sensation who confirmed LFC transfer 'interest'

Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for one of the Belgian League's most promising attackers.

According to the Daily Mail:

"Liverpool have been among clubs to send scouts to watch Henry Onyekuru playing for Belgian side Eupen, who will agree to sell this summer for £6.8m [€8m]".

Liverpool's interest in Onyekuru appears to be legitimate:

* Jan 2017: Onyekuru told reporters: "My agency informed me Liverpool have shown interest. I am glad a big team like Liverpool wants me".

* Jan 2017: An alleged source close to Eupen further claimed: "Onyekuru's agent told me about Liverpool’s interest yesterday".

Some info about 'brilliant' Onyekuru:

* 19-year old left-winger, who can also play on the right, and upfront. Contract expires: 2020.

* Eupen: 32 goals/assists in 52 apps (One every 118 mins).

* This season: 25 goals/assists in 33 apps (One every 116 mins)

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Lightning-fast. Usually plays on the left wing despite being right-footed. Impressive speed, agility and dribbling skills. Solid finishing".

* Supports Arsenal, and cites Thierry Henry as his favourite player.

* Dec 2016: Onyekuru told OGN: "I’d like to go to England. I would rather go to Arsenal. There are many scouts who follow me".

* Jan 2017: Went AWOL and threatened to go on strike after Eupen nixed a transfer to Celtic.

A 'lightning-fast, right-footed winger? Sounds like a Sadio Mane clone, which is exactly what Liverpool need. However, Onyekuru is comparatively inexperienced, and although his creative record is decent, the Belgian League is - with respect - several quality levels below the the Premier League.

Additionally, going AWOL and threatening to go on strike is a giant red flag, and he wouldn't last long under Klopp with that kind of attitude. Just ask Mamadou Sakho! (Come on, you knew I had to get one in there somewhere!)

Worth a bid?
