Deal Close? Liverpool Reps fly out to watch 'brilliant' attacker who admitted: 'Liverpool wants me'

With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Liverpool are continuing to scout one the Belgian League's most promising attacking players.

According to the Daily Mail:

"Southampton, Bournemouth and Liverpool were all represented as Henry Onyekuru...scored his 17th goal of the season in Eupen's 3-3 draw at Kortrijk on Saturday".

Last week, Onyekuru confirmed that he's leaving this summer:

"I have made my decision to leave. I have already agreed with Eupen that I am joining my new club. I am negotiations right now with clubs [and] my ultimate aim is to play in the Premier League".

Liverpool's interest in Onyekuru appears to be legitimate:

* Jan 2017: Onyekuru told reporters: "Liverpool have shown interest. I am glad a big team like Liverpool wants me".

* Jan 2017: An alleged source close to Eupen further claimed: "Onyekuru's agent told me about Liverpool’s interest yesterday".

Some info about 'brilliant' Onyekuru:

* 19-year old left-winger, who can also play on the right, and upfront. Contract expires: 2020.

* Eupen: 34 goals/assists in 54 apps (One every 116 mins).

* This season: 26 goals/assists in 35 apps (One every 119 mins)

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Lightning-fast. Impressive speed, agility and dribbling skills. Solid finishing".

* Dec 2016: Onyekuru told OGN: "I’d like to go to England. I would rather go to Arsenal. There are many scouts who follow me".

A 'lightning-fast, right-footed winger? Sounds like a Sadio Mane clone, which is exactly what Liverpool need. However, Onyekuru is comparatively inexperienced, and although his creative record is decent, the Belgian League is - with respect - several quality levels below the the Premier League. Worth a bid?
