Liverpool are currently linked with a summer move for 'impressive' Atalanta star Franck Kessie, but what do Liverpool fans think about this potential transfer.
Liverpool have reportedly scouted 'impressive' Kessie 'extensively' this season (including at the AFCON), and when asked this week about a possible summer transfer, the midfielder's agent told Rai Sport:
“There are many overseas clubs interested in him. Manchester City. Liverpool, where their manager Jurgen Klopp knows how to help young players develop".
Kessie's agent further added:
“There are very few clubs who can afford him. He’s a good lad, honest and humble. He is a complete player, and everywhere you put him, he can do that role".
Atalanta have allegedly slapped a £34m price tag on Kessie, but the inflated fee seeming isn't a deal breaker amongst Reds fans.
I conducted a poll this week asking fans if Klopp should sign Kessie, and 78% of participants voted YES to the transfer.
With Lucas on the way out, Henderson increasingly injured, Stewart regularly ignored, and Can stalling on signing a new deal, there's clearly a need for another central midfielder, but is Kessie the answer?
In my view, this is a risky transfer, especially for £30m+. This is 20-year old Kessie's first season in top-flight football, and there's always a possibility that he'll turn out to be a one season wonder. As such, it surely makes sense to wait a couple of years to see if he can maintain his form.
