Anfield MegaDeal? Liverpool handed big chance to sign 'exceptional' €43m star after Agent reveals 'agreement' error

In March, German newspaper Bild claimed that Liverpool target Julian Brandt had 'agreed' a move to Bayern Munich, but in a big boost for Liverpool, Brandt's father has dismissed the reports as nonsense.

When asked this week about the alleged agreement with Bayern, Brandt's father (and Agent) told Sky Germany:

"There isn't any agreement. Julian hasn't made any decision yet, and he hasn't spoken to Rummenigge, Hoeness or Reschke [Bayern hierarchy] or Ancelotti."

This will be good news for Jurgen Klopp, who is reportedly desperate to sign Brandy. According to the Liverpool Echo, 'exceptional' Brandt is Klopp's top target, and in a recent interview, Echo journo James Pearce claimed:

"He [Brandt] is high on Liverpool's summer shopping list. Klopp rates Brandt very highly [and] wanted to buy him in January. Liverpool will go all out to get him this summer".

Brandt fits the template of the kind of player Klopp likes to sign (pliable, malleable, subservient, obedient etc), but Liverpool need to sign confident, mentally strong leaders, and Brandt - who recently complained that his performances were 'suffering' due to transfer speculation - is very far from that.

Plus, Brandt it too young. He's only 20, and he's still developing as a player, and the Reds (arguably) need more experienced players in his position, especially if the club qualifies for the Champions League. Thanks, but no thanks.
