Molby raves: Liverpool should sign €20m sensation who's like 'Kante'; 91% of fans want deal

Liverpool legend Jan Molby has hailed Liverpool's reported plan to sign one of the Bundesliga's standout players.

On Wednesday, multiple reports claimed that Liverpool are keen to sign RB Leipzig sensation Naby Keita, and in his Friday column for the Liverpool Echo, Molby enthused:

"I'm encouraged to see Liverpool linked with Naby Keita. He's a player, and he reminds me of N'Golo Kante. He has that same level of potential and looks as though he'd make the step up in his stride"

Liverpool's interest is legit, and €20m-rated Keita confirmed this in October, when he told reporters:

"Arsenal, and Man City...were interested in signing me, and Liverpool as well".

Liverpool arguably need at least one combative midfielder, and Reds fans seem keen on the deal. I conducted a poll this week asking fans if LFC should sign Keita, and a whopping 91% of participating fans voted YES to the deal.

Some info about Keita, who has the same agent as Sadio Mane.

* 22-year old box-to-box midfielder, described as 'equal parts Kane, Pirlo and Gerrard'.

* Bundesliga (Salzburg/Leipzig): 24 goals/18 assists (42) in 102 apps (One every 178 mins)

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Constantly plugs gaps when team-mates vacate position. Impeccable anticipation. Phenomenal range of passing. Expert dribbling. Adept at playing through rigorous pressing".

* Jul 2016: Sporting director Rangnick enthused: “He [Keita] fits our team perfectly with his dynamism, outstanding technical and tactical skills”

* Feb 2017: In negotiations with Leipzig over a record-breaking salary deal.

On a related note: Keita collapsed after suffering 'circulatory problems' during RB Leipzig's 1-0 defeat to Wolfsburg on Saturday. According to the Echo:

"Keita is being kept in hospital overnight as a precaution. RB Leipzig are yet to comment on the incident, but Keita is conscious following the incident".

A viable target for Liverpool?
