Deal Close? After months of talks, Liverpool plan new offer for 'brilliant' €38m star. 73% of fans want exit

One of Liverpool's underperforming midfield stars is stalling on signing a new deal at Anfield.

According to The Mirror this week:

* Despite 'months of negotiations', Emre Can is no closer to agreeing a new contract at Liverpool.

* Can wants to double his £35k-a-week salary, but Liverpool instead plan to offer a fresh deal that will be 'incentive loaded'.

* If Can continues to stall, Liverpool will cash in this summer, rather than risk losing Can on a free transfer next January.

Earlier this season Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato claimed:

"Can is not satisfied with how Klopp is dealing with him...and might be tempted to join Juve".

Sky Sports later reported:

"Juventus are eyeing a move for Emre Can...and are hopeful the [promise] of regular game-time could lure him to Turin".

Where's the problem? Just sell Can already! His value has undoubtedly increased over the last 2.5 years, and Liverpool can do much better in his position.

There are probably several teams willing to pay an extortionate price for Can, so in my view, it's a win-win: make a huge profit, and use the money to buy a better midfield player.

Many other Liverpool fans also appear to support a summer transfer for Can. Last month, I conducted a poll asking fans if Klopp should sell the German, and 73% of participants voted YES.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, Can is worth €38m (!), and if a club comes in with such an inflated offer, it will be madness to reject it...right?
