Last week, Dinamo Zagreb official Zdravko Mamic confirmed that the Croatian club is keen to sign Marko Grujic on loan, but what Liverpool fans think about the possibility of a deal?
Speaking to Croatian newspaper Blic, Mamic claimed:
“I wanted to bring in Andrija Zivkovic, but I failed, so now I’m trying to get Marko Grujic on loan from Liverpool FC, a former player for Red Star, to help the club”.
After Grujic's first injury-ravaged season at Anfield, a loan deal arguably makes perfect sense, but some Reds fans appear to disagree.
I conducted a poll over the weekend asking fans if Liverpool should send Grujic on loan, and a whopping 74% of participating fans voted NO.
The question appears to be moot, though, as Grujic's agent has dismissed the speculation. Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Zoran Stojadinovic, insisted:
"Grujic is not a realistic option. Liverpool have big plans for Marko. Last winter they didn't even want to hear about anything to do with a possible loan, as he's their big project. They are very patient".
We'll see if these 'big plans' come to fruition next season. I personally can't see Grujic becoming a first-team, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.
Right now, Grujic is Markovic MK 2, but does he have what it takes to exceed his compatriot and become a success at Anfield?
* Grujic: €14m-rated. Hailed by Klopp as a 'wonderful' player.
