Confirmed: 'Fantastic' £25m star will miss Liverpool's must-win Spurs clash. Massive blow for Klopp's rival?

Liverpool have received some good news ahead of the weekend's crunch clash with Spurs at Anfield.

According to The Independent:

"Danny Rose will miss Saturday’s trip to Liverpool...with a knee injury picked up during last Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at Sunderland. Rose saw a specialist on Monday and the results showed that he should be able to return within two weeks".

This is bad news for 'fantastic' Rose, but good news for the Reds, who'll need every possible advantage to beat high-flying Spurs on Saturday. After a damaging run of just one win in ten games, I doubt many fans will disagree that Saturday's game is a must-win, and if one of Pochettino's best (and most consistent) players is out of the match, then it will weaken Spurs to some degree.

Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela also remain on the sidelines with injury, but their absence hasn't stopped Spurs recent surge up the table, and basically usurping Liverpool in the top four.

One thing's for sure: Klopp can have no excuses this weekend. Liverpool are at home; the team will have had seven clear days of recovery time, and Dejan Lovren aside, Klopp has a fully-fit squad from which to choose.

* Rose: £25m-rated
