Decision Made: Boss responds to Liverpool rumours and confirms transfer for 'fantastic' £20m sensation is a no-go

Liverpool are currently linked with a move for 'fantastic' RB Leipzig attacker Emil Forsberg, but the chances of a January transfer appear to be slim.

Earlier this week, ESPN claimed:

"Jurgen Klopp will target RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg during the January transfer window. Leipzig would not accept less than £20m and [will] evaluate offers".

The Mirror further claimed:

"Liverpool scouts have been to check to see him [Forsberg] in action for RBL this season".

Alas, Leipzig appear to be dead-set on keeping hold of Forsberg, and on Friday, two of the club's senior figures ruled out a transfer:

* Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttle told reporters: "I do not think the player would leave the club at the moment. All who are here at the moment are still here at the end of the season".

* Sporting director Ralf Rangnick added: "I can promise you that Emil will be here until the end of the season, and hopefully for a long period after that, too."

As is always the case, money talks, and if Liverpool lay down a massive transfer fee, then Leipzig will probably sell.

That said, with Leipzig currently setting the Bundesliga on fire, I doubt Forsberg will want to leave in the middle of what could turn out to be a momentous, Leicester-style season, especially if Leipzig go on to win the league.

Try again in the summer?
