Decision Made: Jurgen Klopp wants 'really brilliant' €11m attacker at Liverpool and will not consider a loan deal

Is Sheyi Ojo set to leave Liverpool on loan during the January transfer window?

Newcastle-based newspaper Chronicle Live claims that Rafa Benitez is keen to sign Ojo for the rest of the season, but according to the Liverpool Echo today:

"Jurgen Klopp has no intention of sending Sheyi Ojo out on loan. Ojo is staying put with Klopp insisting the 19-year-old will be needed by the Reds as they continue to compete on three fronts".

Hmmm. I seriously doubt that Klopp will use Ojo extensively over the next 4-5 months.

Ojo has made just one start all season (in the FA Cup), and didn't even make the bench on Sunday despite Liverpool's tiring fixture schedule.

With Mane out of the picture, now is the time for Klopp to use Ojo, but FA Cup and/or EFL games aside, I can't see Ojo being involved, especially when Mane returns.

Given Liverpool's lack of options out wide, it's probably a good idea to keep Ojo in the squad, but sitting on the bench, and/or being regularly ignored for the match day squad isn't going to further his development.

A stint playing under a world-class manager like Rafa Benitez may, however, be beneficial.
