'I'm Impressed': Klopp drops massive hint about 'wonderful' Man Utd reject who's desperate for Liverpool 'chance'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that one of the club's rising Academy start may be in line for a debut tonight.

During his pre-match press conference this week, Klopp described Reds winger Harry Wilson as a 'wonderful young player', and suggested that he may play some part in tonight's game:

"I'm impressed [with Wilson]. I have no line-up yet, but he is part of our thoughts for this game."

In the last couple of months, Wilson has been increasingly vocal about his desire to be given a chance in the first team.

* Nov 2016: Wilson noted: "If I keep scoring, assisting and doing well then hopefully my [first-team] chance will come".

* Dec 2016: Wislon told ESPN: "When you see the amount of players the manager has given debuts it gives you hope. I am scoring, assisting and helping the team and...if I keep doing what I am doing, the chance will come".

It must be galling to for Wilson - the youngest Wales international in history, and the captain of Liverpool's U23 team - to see Ben Woodburn get chances in the first team ahead of him.

Wilson is two years older than Woodburn, and he's on 10 goals/assists in 11 games for U23s this season, so he appears to be a prime candidate for promotion to the first team.

Well, it looks like Wilson's chance is finally here, and with any luck, he'll take it.

* 2015: Wilson confirmed"My career started at Manchester United, but it didn't work out there".
