Replace Sturridge? Klopp to make Liverpool offer for 'magnificent' £30m sensation with 20 goals/assists in 27 games

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for one the SPL's top strikers.

According to Sky Sports, the Reds are planning a January 'offer' for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele:

"Liverpool are ready to splash out on Celtic hotshot Moussa Dembele in January".

Dembele was linked with Liverpool back in July, but he ultimately ended up signing for ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.

Dembele has hit the ground running at Celtic, and with 20 goals/assists in 27 games so far this season (one every 07 minutes), it's obvious why he is coveted by a number of clubs.

Reds legend Jamie Carragher is a fan, and in a recent column for the Daily Mail, he described the youngster as 'magnificent', and enthused:

"Brendan Rodgers has unearthed a gem. Celtic are going to struggle to keep him but if they do eventually sell him, then it is going to be for a fee 20 or 30 times more than their initial outlay".

Dembele reportedly cost Celtic £1m, which means that he could - according to Carra - be worth £30m by his next transfer. Such a massive fee increase sounds unlikely, but given the ridiculous fees paid for similar players over the last few years, it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

That said, the praise for Dembele should be tempered by the fact he's playing at an inferior level in the SPL, though 3 goals in 5 Champions League games suggests that he can also cut it at a higher level.

A possible replacement for Daniel Sturridge?
