Carra raves: Forget Mane. 'Powerful' £56m Man United star is the 'best signing' of the year

Who is the Premier League's signing of the season so far?

According to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, that accolade belongs to Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In his column for the Daily Mail this week, Carra explained:

"Best signing: Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is charismatic, powerful and a scorer of all kinds of goals. Zlatan has shown us why he has won 29 major honours — including 11 league titles — during his glittering career".

I totally agree with this. As regular readers will know, I'm a big fan of Ibrahimovic, and the Swede is proving once again that he is one of the greatest strikers of the last twenty years.

At the start of the season, many Liverpool fans (some on this site) wrote Ibrahimovic off, claiming (in ignorance of his past achievements) that he wouldn't cut it in English football.

I repeatedly argued the opposite, and - shock horror - it turns out that the guy who has scored almost 400 career goals in multiple leagues is proving to be a top class goalscorer once again. Who could've foreseen that?

22 goals/assists in 26 games so far is a superb achievement for a 35 year old in his first season in English football, and so far, Ibrahimovic has outscored *all* of Liverpool's attacking players,

Ibrahimovic has nothing to prove to anyone. 13 league titles (not 11, Carra) with 6 clubs shows that (including 8 in a row earlier in his career). Form is temporary, class is permanent, and the Swede is the living embodiment of this oft-stated aphorism.
