Who will start at right-back for England tonight?
According to Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas, Liverpool full-back Nathaniel Clyne should get the nod.
When asked this week to choose between the two Clyne and Kyle Walker, Nicholas told Sky Sports:
"Nathaniel Clyne is more defensively assured than Kyle Walker at right-back".
In my view, Kyle Walker is massively overrated, especially when it comes to his alleged attacking capabilities.
Speed aside, I don't see what Walker actually brings to England on a consistent basis that warrants his continued inclusion at the expense of Clyne. Nicholas also insisted:
"I'd go for Jordan Henderson...over Eric Dier. England don't need a holding midfielder for this fixture".
Liverpool are the form team in the Premier League right now, and are five points clear of Spurs in the league table. As such, it makes sense to include players like Henderson, Clyne, Lallana, and Sturridge in the starting line-up.
* Clyne: €28m-rated (CIES Football Observatory). Described by Klopp as a 'machine'
