Manchester United are reportedly lining up an improbable move for 'world-class' ex-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
According to Spanish daily Don Balon today:
"Man Utd and Man City are both hoping to lure Luis Suarez back to England, with Man United prepared to splash out as much as £135m".
When asked in February about a future transfer back to the Premier League, Suarez told reporters:
"You never know what will happen in the future. If I was to return to England, it would be to play for Liverpool – not for any other team. I’ve missed the fans. The atmosphere is incredible".
Suarez claims he'll never play for another team in England, but in many cases, a footballer's public comments are not worth the air into which they're uttered.
I can see Suarez at Man City, but Man United? No chance. In any event, a return to the Premier League appears to be off the table as earlier this month, Suarez insisted:
"I hope I can finish my career at Barçelona".
Barcelona would probably accept £135m, but Suarez isn't stupid (or controversial) enough to sign for Liverpool's most reviled rivals...right?
