Loris Karius has revealed his reasons for choosing to sign for Liverpool.
Last week, Klopp confirmed that he'd wanted to sign 'outstanding' Karius 'for two years', and when asked this week why he chose Liverpool, Karius told Sport Bild:
"He [Klopp] briefly introduced himself on the phone, and then we had a long chat. I had a good feeling because he’s such pleasant guy. It was immediately clear to me that I wanted to move to Liverpool".
Karius also made the following compelling observation:
“We talked about this and that, and I soon realised that we are talking the same language”.
So, Karius, the master of deduction, quickly gleaned that Klopp is...German. How devastatingly astute.
(I'm joking, you can stop foaming at the mouth now).
In many cases, managers at top clubs bring in their own 'keeper at some point (Guardiola recently brought in Bravo, for example), and it's clear that Karius is Klopp's guy.
The huge positive is that, bar Grujic, all of Liverpool's summer signings (including Karius) have hit the ground running this season, which is a rare occurrence at Anfield.
^ Karius: €18.5m-rated (CIES Football Observatory).
