Paris St. Germain and Barcelona are once again being linked with a big-money move for 'amazing' Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho, but if a giant offer comes in, should Klopp sell?
According to The Mirror:
"Liverpool are ready to offer Philippe Coutinho a new contract to fend off interest from Barcelona".
Last season, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed that Liverpool are willing to sell Coutinho for '£70m', but according to Reds fans, that's not enough.
Last week, I conducted a poll asking fans if Liverpool should accept a £70m offer for Coutinho, or sign him up for a long-term contract. The results:
* 58% of participating fans voted NO to selling the Brazilian.
I voted YES to selling. Coutinho is an exciting player, but he's never been consistent enough over an entire season, and his goals/assist stats are regularly much lower than similar top players in his position.
That said, Coutinho has started this season in explosive fashion, so perhaps he's now moving into a more prolific stage of his Liverpool career.
If that proves to be the case, then Klopp should obviously keep him, but I can't help feeling that there's an air of inevitability about Coutinho's eventual exit (just as there was with Luis Suarez).
