Massive Boost: Great news for Liverpool as 'fantastic' £60k-a-week star hints at early injury return

With Liverpool regularly suffering injuries during international breaks, it's refreshing to get some good news for once, and after recent surgery on his hand, it appears that Reds' stopper Loris Karius is on an accelerated road to recovery.

Speaking to Liverpool's official website this week, Karius confirmed:

"We're ahead of schedule [and], I am in the last stages. Maybe I'll be back way sooner than expected. I am pretty sure next week I will feel fine".

Karius appears to be implying that he'll be available for next week's clash with Leicester City, but that's surely too soon for a return to Premier League action?

Karius further claims:

"I don't really think I'll need a long time to be back on my best level".

Well, Karius - described by Jurgen Klopp as 'fantastic' - is back in training, so perhaps he's right about the early return:

Mignolet beware? To be honest, I doubt Mignolet has much to fear right now. Karius is clearly chomping at the bit to get in the team, but broken bones cannot be rushed, and I imagine it'll be at least another month before he's ready to usurp the Belgian. The worst thing Klopp can do is rush Karius into the team and risk aggravating the injury.

* Reportedly on £60k-a-week
