Agony and Ecstacy: 'High-level' Klopp signing makes massive error; £80k-a-week Liverpool star returns

It may be international week, but a behind closed doors friendly defeat to Huddersfield today shows that Liverpool's shadow side is suffering the same problems as Jurgen Klopp's match-day team.

LFC STARTING XI: Manninger, Milner, Matip, Lucas, Moreno, Stewart, Ejaria, Firmino, Brewster, Dhanda, Ings.

Huddersfield came from a goal down to beat the Reds 2-1, and according to the Liverpool Echo's match report:

"Huddersfield equalised through Jack Payne who easily outfoxed Alex Manninger^, before an error from the Manninger saw his pass cut out in the Liverpool box and Kasey Palmer sealed the win".

Same sh*^t, different day:

* Liverpool suffer as a result of goalkeeping errors.

* The Reds go ahead in the game, but are unable to maintain the lead, and then lack the skill to break down a stubborn defence to get back into the game.

* Klopp Using players out of position (Milner, presumably at right-back; Lucas in central defence).

The team contained some young players, but it also included Milner, Matip, Lucas, Moreno, Firmino, and Ings, six first-team regulars, and that should've been enough to get a result against Championship opposition.

Yes, it's only a friendly, and it'll keep the players fit, but losing 2-1 to lower league opposition, ostensibly at home, is a poor result.

The good news is that Lucas* played the full 90 minutes, which suggests that he'll be fit enough to feature against Leicester next week. Will Klopp play the Brazilian as a defensive-midfielder, or will he persist with playing Wijnaldum and Hendo out of position?

^ Described by Jurgen Klopp as a 'high-level player' with 'great experience'.
* Jul 2016: Reportedly on £80k-a-week
