Klopp's Top Target: Liverpool determined to sign 'unbelievable' record-breaking €20m attacker. Offer made last week

Last week, Liverpool reportedly made a late offer for Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic, and although the deal didn't go through, new reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is determined sign the coveted attacker at some point in the future.

On Friday, ESPN claimed:

"Liverpool have offered €15m for Christian Pulisic. Stoke have [already] bid €20m, with Leipzig and Stuttgart also linked".

According to the Liverpool Echo this week:

"Liverpool are planning to follow up their interest in Christian Pulisic in future transfer windows. Jurgen Klopp was hoping to bring [Pulisic] to Anfield this summer but the deal proved problematic".

It be difficult to prise Pulisic away, though. When asked recently about his future, the 17-year old's father (and Agent) told reporters:

"Christian has no interest in leaving the club. He had a good half year last season, and wants to continue to break through."

Klopp owkred with 'unbelievable' Pulisic at Dortmund, so his interest in the player makes sense, but the fact remains that Liverpool are (arguably) oversubscribed in the number-10 position, and a 17-year old with comparatively minimal experience isn't going to make that much difference to Liverpool's forward progress.

Buying Pulisic between the ages of 17-19 is a mistake, as history shows that no foreign attacking player in that age group has *ever* come through the ranks to become a first-team regular at Anfield.

In my view, the time to buy Pulisic is when he's 21/22, and has a solid 3-4 years of top level experience/development behind him.
