'New Bale' to Anfield? Klopp wants 'talented' £3m sensation who's friends with Liverpool attacker Ben Woodburn

With only four days until the first game of the season, Liverpool are still light in the full-back positions, but after recent links to Ben Chilwell, new reports today suggest that Jurgen Klopp has his eye on yet another teenager.

According to Get West London, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing 16-year of Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, who last night started the Cottager's 3-2 EFL victory over Leyton Orient.

Some info about Sessegnon:

* Left-back, with one senior appearance for Fulham. 8 appearances for England U16/U17. Nicknamed the 'new Gareth Bale'.

* Friends with Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn, who impressed on the Reds' recent pre-season tour.

* Oct 2015: Helped Fulham win the Premier League's U16 International Cup (which also featured Liverpool's U16 team).

* Jan 2016: Fulham reportedly rejected a £3m transfer deadline day bid from Arsenal.

* Apr 2016: Liverpool were linked with a summer move for Sessegnon.

* Aug 2016: Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic enthused: "Ryan Sessegnon is a talented boy. He is a great prospect, but we need to be careful with him. He will be an important player for the future of English football.”

In many ways, this makes perfect sense: Liverpool failed to sign 19-year old Ben Chilwell, who has only three senior appearances to his name, so the natural progression is to go for someone even younger, and less experienced!

Clearly, Sessegnon is the solution to the Reds' left-back problems. Moreno better watch his back. In other words...

Meh.
