Confirmed Team News: 'Fantastic' £34m Liverpool signing starts tonight vs. Tranmere. Grujic problems stop debut?

Liverpool's pre-season schedule kicks off tonight with a short trip to Prenton Park to face Tranmere Rovers, and the good news is that Reds fans will get an early glimpse of at least one of the club's summer signings.

According to the Liverpool Echo today:

"Sadio Mane starts for Liverpool vs. Tranmere tonight".

The Echo also claims:

"No Marko Grujic. The Young Serbian midfielder needs to leave country and return for work permit purposes".

Speaking to the Echo today, Tranmere defender Liam Ridehalgh admitted that he is excited about facing 'fantastic' Mane:

“If I’m up against Mane, then that’s brilliant. He’s obviously a great player for Liverpool to spend that much on him, and that’s the kind of player you want to be testing yourself against".

Purely in football terms, Mane - who cost the Reds £34m - is a good signing; he has pace, power, and one crucial quality missing from Adam Lallana's limited repertoire: end product.

Hopefully we'll see some evidence of that end product tonight.
