Liverpool Update: 'Outstanding' midfielder sensation confirms he'll 'speak to Klopp' about summer transfer

In recent months, a whole host of Academy talents have been dumped on the Anfield scrapheap, but 'outstanding' midfield prospect Cameron Brannagan has (so far) have avoided the cull, and appears to be considering a loan move during the upcoming season.

When asked this week about his immediate future, Brannagan told LFC.com:

"Loans are a big thing at my age, going out and experiencing what it's like to play. I'll speak to the gaffer about it [a loan], and when the gaffer wants to speak to me, I'm happy to talk about it".

Jurgen Klopp has already made clear his dissatisfaction with the current loan system at Anfield, but with the reduced fixture schedule next season, there's no way to give first teamers and Academy players regular game-time.

As such, Klopp may have to just bite the bullet and allow Brannagan (and several others) to leave on loan, or face stunting his development. Brannagan will learn next to nothing sitting on the bench all season (if he even makes the bench, that is) but there are obvious benefits to playing regularly at Championship club.

Brannagan - who is reportedly on Barcelona's wanted list - appears to be a fan favourite, but even with his obvious talent, there's no guarantee that he'll make it at Anfield. As a comparison, Jordan Rossiter - a fellow scouser - was very highly-rated at Liverpool, but he ended up leaving this summer.

Brannagan: Keep, or send on loan?
