The ever-tedious Piotr Zielinski transfer saga continues! Last week, Napoli Chief Aurelio De Laurentis confirmed that the allegedly 'amazing' Zielinski 'wants to join Liverpool', and it appears that Jurgen Klopp is working overtime to make the deal happen.
In a recent interview recently, De Laurentis confirmed:
“Liverpool have made a bid and Zielinski wants to join them [Liverpool], but we are trying to convince the player to join us”.
When asked on Tuesday about Liverpool's ongoing interest in Zielinski, Udinese President Fabrizio Corsi told Radio Kiss Kiss:
“Klopp has been talking to [Zielinski] since January. Liverpool moved forward, including in the head of the lad, who has it in his mind to be in the Premier League. I would advise Zielinski to join Napoli".
Liverpool have been here several times before, with players allegedly desperate to sign for the club, and ending up elsewhere. As such, it won't surprise me in the slightest if Zielinski ends up at Napoli, who can offer Champions League football.
I don't see how Zielinski is an upgrade on the club's current attacking players, and if Liverpool are to progress from 8th place mediocrity, then better players than Zielinski are required (IMO).
Case in point: Zielinski started Poland's 1-0 Euro 2016 victory over Ukraine on Tuesday, but barely made an impression, and got subbed off at half-time after making only 11 passes, and failing to register a single shot on goal/key pass.
