Paris St. Germain attacker Lucas Moura is a popular transfer target amongst Liverpool fans, and reports this week suggest that the 'wonderful' Brazilian star remains on Jurgen Klopp's transfer wish-list.
Over the last few months, Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for €32m-rated Moura, and according to Sky Sports today:
* Liverpool remain interested in signing Moura this summer.
* All all the players currently lined with LFC, Moura is 'most likely to go through' this summer.
Moura's agent recently confirmed that the Brazilian is having a tough time at PSG:
"He [Moura] loves PSG, but he's had problems. He has not played that much, and he's unhappy about that. He often complains"
Earlier this month, I conducted a poll asking fans whether Liverpool should pursue Moura, and the results were emphatic:
PSG are currently linked with a move for Philippe Coutinho, so perhaps there's scope for a swap deal? If Moura comes the other way, there are clear positives to having him at Anfield:
* Plays for one of Europe's biggest clubs, so he's experienced the pressure that comes with relentless expectation.
* Plays alongside the likes of Ibrahimovic, Silva, Motta, Pastore, Veratti, and Cavani, and that experience with elite players should (in theory) help him hit the ground running in England.
* Only 23, so with the right guidance/coaching, he can improve, and his best years are (or should be) ahead of him.
It'll also make refreshing change to see Liverpool sign a player from one of Europe's top clubs and not from a mid-table (or worse) Prem/Bundesliga club.
As noted above, Moura allegedly wants to play for Klopp, but realistically, without Champions League football, the Reds have little chance of sealing this deal.
Theoretically, is Moura a viable replacement for Coutinho?
