'Next Lewandowski' to Anfield? Liverpool want 'amazing' €13m striker with 68 goals/assists in 75 games

With the summer transfer window imminent, Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for Ajax striker Arkadiusz Milik.

According to Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato:

"Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern, and Monaco...are amongst a long list of teams interested in signing Arkadiusz Milik".

When asked on Friday about his future, Milik told TMW:

"I told my agent to inform me serious offers after the European Championships. Now, I do not want anything to distract me".

Some info about Milik, who is dubiously nicknamed the 'next Lewandowski':

* 22-year old striker whose current contract expires in 2019. Reportedly available for £10m (€13m).

* Ajax Total: 68 Goals/assists in 75 apps (One every 80 mins)

* This Season: 36 Goals/assists in 42 apps (One every 90 mins)

* Europe (CL and EL): 13 goals/assists in 18 apps (One every 103 mins)

* Feb 2016: Ronald De Boer's assessment: "Milik is a player who has amazing skills...but he often runs too deep, and needs to work on his ball retention".

With 13 goals/assists in his last 11 games, Milik is on fire right now, and his overall stats are superb for a 22-year old. Additionally, Klopp has a history of success with Polish players, so it makes sense to target Milik. Alas, Liverpool may be out of the running as Milik supports one of the club's arch rivals:

"My dream is to play at Manchester United. I am a fan of the Red Devils, so I would love to someday play in the team at Old Trafford".

Man United notwithstanding, if Milik is available for a comparatively meagre €13m, then it's an absolute no-brainer (IMO).
